Richard Dunne has launched a scathing attack on France manager Raymond Domenech insisting he is 'messing up' the national team.

The Republic of Ireland meet France in Dublin on Saturday for the first-leg of their World Cup play-off clash with the return in Paris four days later.

Despite leading France to the World Cup final in 2006 Domenech has come in for stinging criticism in his homeland after a dismal Euro 2008, France failed to get out of their group and obtained just one point,

That was followed up by a poor World Cup qualifying campaign where they finished second behind Serbia to increase the pressure on Domenech.

Domenech's popularity hit an all time low this week when he took his squad to the tennis at the Paris Open only for fans to begin booing him when his face was shown on the giant screen.

"Every time a tournament comes round [France] have all these world-class players and then a man who seems intent on messing up," Dunne said.

"Over the last World Cups and European Championships, things have not run smoothly for France, they've always got through but maybe it's the time that we put a stop to that.

"And we know that if we can get in front, they probably have not got the man at the top to pull them around.

"[Domenech's management] could be a weakness or it could be a big smokescreen. France have played really well in their last few games. But if we can get on top of them and try to turn the game into a battle, we feel we have the stronger personalities.

"You can see the reaction of the people at the tennis, when they put his face on the big screen. The whole place just booed him and his own players laughed at him.

Domenech has been taking the piss ever since the draw was made. He called the Republic of Ireland the England B team. The last time we met he slagged us of and called us an inferior team. This was just after the World Cup when we had got through the group stages and had been knocked out on penalties. France had not only failed to get out of their group but had failed to score a single goal. They picked up a single point from a 0-0 draw.

Domenech is a twat and I hope we beat the bastards.

Domenech is hated by all of France, how he remains in charge of the team is a mystery. Je n'ai pas compris.

I'm hoping we play a mostly London based team against Brazil:

Croxley
Colindale, Homerton, Leytonstone, Snaresbrook
Gunnersbury, Alperton, Stockwell, Hornchurch
Aldgate, Limehouse

Subs.
Neasdon
Richmond
Perivale
Shadwell
Stanmore

Interesting blend of North and South although I'd be disappointed if Wandsworth didn't get a game at the back and I'd be very tempted to have Kilburn on the bench just in case things get a bit tasty.

Robinho could play for Brazil in Saturday's friendly with England after all.

The Manchester City striker has not played since injuring his ankle on international duty in September, but flew to Abu Dhabi for the start of the Blues' warm-weather training camp earlier this week.

However, the Brazilian FA insisted on the £32.5million star's release to have his injury assessed by their own medical team in Doha.

First indications from City were that Robinho would only be paying a flying visit. Then they claimed it would be no more than 48 hours.

Now it seems Robinho will not be going back at all and will instead stay with the Confederations Cup winners not just for Saturday's game, but also the encounter with Oman on Wednesday.

The Brazilian Federation claim there is nothing sinister in the move and they have a good relationship with City.

And, in calling on Robinho, coach Dunga was merely following precedent on the basis that he will not have his players together again in one group until March.

But it was also confirmed that if, after examination, Robinho is deemed fit enough to feature against Fabio Capello's side, then he will.

Such a move would cause consternation at Eastlands.

Club officials have already spent large chunks of this week rejecting speculation that the former Real Madrid star will be leaving for Barcelona in January.

The prospect of their record signing turning out for his country before he returns to action for his club after such a long absence would only ignite further flames of controversy.

After a short warm-up session, the sight of Robinho doing laps of the training pitch on his own did lend itself to the view he would not be risked.

However, Hughes will be awaiting further developments, knowing for certain that Robinho will not be on City's flight back to England on Saturday morning.

Ain't getting pretty this.

Brazil look to be on collision course with Manchester City over Robinho, and insist he could play against England.

The forward has been sidelined since September when he picked up an ankle injury whilst playing for his country against Argentina.

Robinho has now left Manchester City's training camp in Abu Dhabi - where they played UAE on Thursday - and has linked up with his country, who are just a short flight away in Qatar.

Brazil are playing England in Doha, and have called on Robinho, and Fifa regulations mean City are obliged to let him report.

City had hoped once Robinho had been seen by Brazil's medical staff, he would be sent back.

However, Brazil insist they will decide on Robinho - no matter what manager Mark Hughes thinks.

Hughes made it clear that he did not want Robinho even to be considered for the friendly with England on Saturday or the following clash with Oman next week.

But Brazil have now stated they will check on him before making a decision, and have seemingly suggested he could play in the friendlies.

"Robinho will train doing the same exercises as the other players but on the side. Whether he'll play this game or next week we are taking day by day," Brazilian spokesman Rodrigo Paiva said.

"We know City want him with them but the situation is that we have only three games before the World Cup so we need Robinho here.

"This is a chance for the coach to talk to the players, to create the ambience, to discuss preparations for next summer. We don't need permission from City to play him but we will keep talking to them.

It looks like Robbie will play more games for Brazil this season than with City. Stephen Ireland should have a word with him and explain how this International footy thing works.....

I still don't understand why Mark let him go in the first place. His Club should come first in this as we're paying his wages.

I doubt he'll play - I would imagine Brazil would have to fork out a bit of money to us if he got injured (like Owen, England and Newcastle).

The fact that he's going to visit the Brazilians rather than training with City would suggest he ain't gonna be playing against Liverpool though.

Still have Bellamy and Petrov though. I just want Robinho fit for the Chelsea game to be fair - big game for him to show us all why he's still the best at the club and hopefully will shut up the "get rid of bad rubbish" fans who want him to leave because of the media attention.

It's Saturday.

I don't think we have any choice in the matter whether he joins up with Brazil or not. If we refused Brazil could have him banned.
