Kyle Walker looked good last night, the rest of them look ideally placed to flatter to deceive in the full England team over the next few years.

Getting owned (I believe pwned is the correct term) doesn't mean drawing 1 - 1.

In all fairness to England wasn't their goal a fucking hand ball?

Fine we we're outplayed but it's Spain, under 21 Spain but still Spain.

You can Tika Tika all you want and fart around with your fancy play but if you don't score it's 110% pointless. I don't know if Spain we're under strength like England were but they SHOULD have owned England by a few goals. Imagine what our lads could do if all the under 21 guys got off their arses and actually played/got in the squad?

I watched the first half then listened on 5 live fer the second. From the First Half i saw Spain dominated, great on the ball and closed England players down very quick, totally the much better side as i expected really. Spain will be a force for a good few years.

serious question, how do you see England competing internationally in future years? Same as always, better or worse? It appears to me that France/Spain/Porto etc teams are just so much better quality.

until we have a root and branch re organisation of the football in this country then england will always be nearly men, i can even see us get worse.

italy, spain, france, germany, all have top leagues but each one has the implicit understanding that the national team comes first

not so here

it doesn't matter if we do build a new lilleshaw, or burton or whatever, as long as the premier league has the power, the england team will suffer.

We pay a huge price for all that lovely TV money. Grassroots english football is secondary to buying talent. Teams would rather get a quick fix and buy in players than build a squad over years and years. Little clubs (even Premiership ones) only bother because they have no other option. Why would somebody like Chelsea train up some guy when they can let somebody like West Ham do the hard work and they can buy the guy just before his prime for a few million?

I pray we don't become like that. I think the owners kind of understand this, and so far have seemed to pay attention to the younger guys.

As fans i guess we suffer aswell. If you want to watch a match on TV you have to pay insane prices to ESPN or Sky. Even then only a fraction of matches are shown. I find it unbelievable that some matches don't make it to TV yet they are shown BY SKY in other countries!

Well i have to admit, the only 2 players who have shone this first half is Smalling and Sinclare. Future looks bleak with this shower.
