Just thinking wishfully,
If the big girl goes from OT to Real utd will suffer a bit, Scolari's club record is nothing to shout about so it may mean that the top4 thing might perhaps open up a bit next season----not enough but a bit!

Fair enough Scolari, hope he can motivate a bunch of soulless whores. What is the penalty for selling yourself to the devil I wonder?

I can't stand Scolari one bit, but I do hope he does something to stop the bloody rags. A bit of a panic decision from Chelsea? Obviously couldn't get hold of their main targets.

I did wonder when he was advising Ronaldo to go to Madrid, was he doing it from the point of of view of the chelsea manager. You get me drift?

Maybe that says more about me than it does him? But I doubt it.

I'm not sure about that. Wasn't Scolari Frank's main target?

The way the Sven thingy blew up ended that courtship methinks. Chelsea will spin it as scooping the highest profile manager out there. One who had been reluctant to come to the PL in past.

Well, good luck to them. We've got enough to be concerned with here.

Limited in experience IMO and at his age. Glad City didn't get him.
Perhaps I'll be proven wrong, but his only success has been in South America at club level and that was limited to Brazil and then gone on to coach national teams (only 2 and both Portugese speaking). European club football is completely different.

-------------------------------------------------------

"He is one of the world's top coaches with a record of success at country and club level," read a Chelsea statement.

Scolari won the 2002 World Cup with Brazil and led Portugal to the final of Euro 2004, and has also won nine domestic trophies in Brazil.
--------------------------------------------------------

The only way I can see him cutting it at this level, is by flooding the Chavski team with Brazilians and Portugese.
So we know where Ronaldinho, Jo, C Ronaldo, etc will be playing next season.

BTW how is the betting going on how long he will last there? Just spoken to a bloke at work about this appointment and we both think to the end of next season at the most.

Well, I thought Hughes was, and also Ancelotti... They said there was two main candidates a few weeks back, they named Hughes but wouldn't say the other, then it was well known that they have been chasing Ancelotti.

Doesn't this make Scolari third choice?

3rd choice? Judging my his managerial career he shouldn't even be that high. At least SGE had managed quite a few top European clubs before. And Hughes has done a great job with Blackburn in the Prem.
But Scolari?
Just shows that Abramovich has more money than sense when it comes to football.

Not bothered really. All the TV pundits are creaming themselves, I suspect that they've looked no further than his track record as a national coach. For him to go into club management, at Chelsea, in the EPL is a huge ask and a hell of a risk IMO.
