Brazil coach Dunga has named Manchester City pair Elano and Robinho and
Manchester United's Anderson in his squad to face Italy in a friendly in London next month.

Dunga has only selected Europe-based players for the match at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium on February 10.

Uncapped Fiorentina midfielder Felipe Melo is the surprise name in the squad while there is no place for Juventus forward Amauri, who was tipped for a call-up as he has also considered playing for Italy.

The 22-man party includes four AC Milan players and three from city rivals Inter.

Brazil squad: Julio Cesar (Inter Milan), Doni (Roma); Maicon (Inter Milan), Daniel Alves (Barcelona), Marcelo (Real Madrid), Adriano Correia (Sevilla), Lucio (Bayern Munich), Juan (Roma), Thiago Silva (Milan), Luisao (Benfica); Gilberto Silva (Panathinaikos), Josue (Wolfsburg), Anderson (Manchester United), Felipe Melo (Fiorentina), Elano (Manchester City), Julio Baptista (Roma), Kaka (Milan); Ronaldinho (Milan), Robinho (Manchester City), Alexandre Pato (Milan), Luis Fabiano (Sevilla), Adriano (Inter Milan)

Erm.... shouldn't someone have had a word at Leslies ear, last time we had one of our top players play in a friendly they got crocked. ( Petrov BTW)

I think Petrov played too soon after coming back from a previous injury.

While I'm sure most of the talk about there being a rift between Robbie and Hushes is bullshit, I don't think it'd be a particularly good move for Hughes to tell Robbie he can't play for Brazil at the moment...

doesn't seem to be an issue between robbie and hughes
Robinho returns to a fine and warning from Hughes
Charlie Maynard
The Guardian, Tuesday 27 January 2009
Article history
Robinho returned for training with Manchester City yesterday with a warning from Mark Hughes after walking out on the club's Tenerife training camp and returning home to Brazil.

The Brazilian appeared to be all smiles despite being hit by a fine of two weeks' wages – £320,000 – for a breach of discipline as the Eastlands club prepared for tomorrow's Premier League meeting with Newcastle United.

Robinho held clear-the-air talks with manager Hughes, whose disciplining of the club's £32m record signing has been backed by the club's owner Sheikh Mansour. Hughes said he would not treat any player differently because of their transfer fee or reputation and denied reports that the Brazil international wanted to leave Eastlands. "He knows how I feel," said the City manager. "I just expect certain standards from my best guys, but I have no problems with good footballers. The ones who are a problem are those who have a higher opinion of their ability than is apparent and a higher opinion of their worth to the team."

Hughes also denied that his 12-goal leading scorer was seeking reassurances about City's ambitions. "People talk about making assurances to Robinho but any reassurances would just be repetition. He knows how I feel," said the Welshman.

edit, trimmed the shit about ladyboy

Same report was in The Sun, but their headline was "City are a laughing stock"
