Dunne has pulled out of the squad as his Missus is in labour.

Catholicism does fit the bill.

That's nice of him:

Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni has recommended Newcastle goalkeeper Shay Given to at least three top Italian clubs. (Daily Mail)

I've always rated Given as one of the top 5 keepers in this country, shame he doesn't know where Dublin is though :D

A fucking terrible match. It was like being at an away game. 50,556 at Croke Park. 48,327 were from Poland. We went 0-1 down after 3 minutes and conceded again 90 seconds into the 2nd half.

My brother wanted to leave in the 88th minute. "Hang on", I said. "Anything can happen". It did. We won a penalty, Stephen Hunt scored. They scored from the kick off to make it 1-3. Andrews then made it 2-3 from our kick off.

Lessons of the day -

1 Don't leave a match early.
2 Poland have very loud supporters.
3 Trapper Tony's ROI are a heap of shite.

Sounds like you need the rejuvenated Stevie Ireland back. Actually no, we'll keep him, don't want him breaking his ankle in 3 places playing in a friendly against the Faroe Islands or something.

He left Andy Reid and Lee Carsley out of the squad. Stephen Ireland has refused to play for him. We may not have the players, but last night we were clueless and shapeless. I thought he might get that much right. It was a shambles.
