The comparisons with the 5-1 are pathetic.

Oh it's a positive rarity. But a welcome pleasure all the same.

My £20 on an england win at 9/4 was a good bet on reflection.

It's just too easy a comparison to make. Plus Germany finished the game with 11 men. These results are similar in scoreline only. Importance, quality of opposition, quality of England etc etc are different, it doesn't make sense to compare it to the Germany game. Oh, and there's the whole England/Germany rivalry thing.

Next time City win 2-1, lets all compare it to the derby at OT last year.

Walcott looked very nervous to begin with, was a bit all over the place. Once he smashed in his first, completely different game for the lad. Sign him in January anyone? :D

i wonder if germany consider england a rival.

it's not as important, but in terms of a boost to the confidence and a great result for a new manager it is similar i guess.

If we're saying this is useless, wouldn't it be a 1-0 win that would need to be compared to the OT win?

Fair point, I was just going for a rough comparison.

Irrelevant. Our media still build it up as massive rivalry, and therefore the victory was blown out of all proportion.

i know. it was an irrelevant side question. i just wonder as we build up the big rivalry and they have had many other finals, wins and losses. even the war linked rivalry, they prob talk more of usa and russia.

Nice work. I also backed City at 7/2 for Saturday, so maybe it was lucky...
