I quite like Woy Hodgson. He is from tha same era as me, but he has been around and mostly been quite successful and has had considerable experience.
However his squad for the current Euros is a bit baffling.
Why he has taken Wilshire and Henderson and I suppose Sturridge, who have all hardly played and are injury prone? He refused Walcott on the grounds that he hadn't played regularly. I hunk that Sterling is lucky to be there because he has hardly lived up to neither his transfer fee nor his potential this season, Barkley and Rooney have hardly pulled up trees either, nor has Stones. Smalling is a red card waiting to happen with continental referees .
I know I am being critical but I am a city supporter first and an England supporter second these days.

Bert, I think even the mist die hard En-ger-land supporters are beaten up by years of disappointment that it has to be club before country these days.

I agree with most of what you're saying Bert, but I'd be interested to know who you'd take to play as centre backs instead of Stones and Smalling. I'm no fan of Cahill either, the only other CB in the squad, but the sad reality of modern football, as I see it, is you need a couple of people to play in central defence. If you didn't, City would've won the league at a canter.

I know what you meanSEC there is a distinct lack of English centre backs.
The stars of yesteryear like Adams Southgate, Campbell even Tery and Ferdinand have gone ,only to be replaced in the Premier League by foreigners.

Best opening ceremony I have seen since Hitlers olympics in 1936.
That David Guetta was brilliant why don't we have him at all the opening ceremonies, World Cup, Olympics etc.
It was loads better than any opening ceremony for years.

Not a bad goal by Payet.
Refereeing left a lot to be desired.

He's got some graft in him for sure.
And yeah. Pogba I'm sure he will show what he can do but that hair cut is lame.

Commentary last night you'd have thought everything Pogba did was Messiesque, he is a good player but i didn't see anything last night that really made me think wow.

I'm trying not to pump myself up too much for England otherwise i'd be let down.

I thought Pogba was great last night, especially in the first half. He's got everything - can tackle, shoot, head the ball, and a few of his passes last night were sublime.

Ditto. Soe of the long range passes were quite literally inch perfect. If we let him go to the rags I will be furious

Enjoyed the game tbf. Looking forward to the two matches left today too.

Watching Wales v Slovaks
Good goal by Barry Gale although the goalkeeper was a bit generous.
What is the point of the assistant ref by the goal? Skirtl elbows the Welshman only a yard from him and there is no penalty. Are they Platinis mates and just on free tickets?
Albania played well with 10 men earlier

Bit of a scrappy Welsh goal
