Or were. Going off their most recent tournament, the current crop of Spanish players most certainly are not chokers.

I'm alright ta, maybe they will "choke" - i don't think you can assume that the current European champions will though, that's all.

Fair enough. Wagers there if you want to grow some testicles though.

Brazil are no where near as good as they used to be.

With Fabiano as their only decent CF they will struggle for goals imo.

Argentina if Maradona lays off the crack, and stops making retarded decisions, could destroy everyone they come up against this world cup. Messi, Aguero, Higuain, Tevez and Di Milito as their attacking options up top, that is fucking scary

I don't know what you're on about but the rules state the squad needs to be made up of 20 outfield players and 3 goalkeepers, DPRK thought they could circumvent that ruling and FIFA rightly called their bluff and told them to fuck off.

I am saying that the rules of the game say that you can have 11 players, one of whom can be nominated as goalkeeper.
You don't have to have a goalkeeper, but no one can handle the ball.
You can play anyone you want in goal, even at the world cup.

Combining them two would be pretty fucking deadly.

Back to this 3 keepers requirement. As I understand the bloke the Koreans wanted to nominate as a keeper could only play in goals. Here's a couple of hypothetical questions.

Say all three keepers get injured in training, somehow. Can someone listed as an outfield player line up in goals?

For some reason Capello wants to bring David James on as a striker. Is that allowed? If you apply the flawed logic behind the 3 keeper rule, the answer is no.

This could quite foreseeably happen if Pearce starts sharing his tactical genius with Capello..

The answer is yes and yes God help us.
In the same way that an outfield player can go in goal if say both goalkeepers in the squad at a match were injured and if the second goalkeeper were the only available nominated substitute.

FIFA's 20 outfield players +3 named goalkeepers is to ensure parity of numbers amongst the teams. They could change their rules to say only 2 goalkeepers and 15 outfield players if they wished (which might make things a lot more interesting). Once the game starts however it is the rules of the game that take precedence over FIFA's rules.

Makes sense. Though the rules of the game are Fifa's though aren't they? Or are they referred to as laws? No matter, I get what you're saying.

Still think there should be a set squad size and you can pick whoever you like. If you want to gamble on bringing just one keeper, you should be allowed.

Laws is what I meant.
