Surely Drogba can get a protective cast in the worst case scenario. He is a bit of a wimp aswell, so him holding it in pain means there will be a bruise in the morning.

I think he'll be fine and be scoring plenty in a weeks time.

Not sure about that. He goes down easily and plays it up and all but he often plays with pretty nasty injuries.

Fabio Capello has revealed that Rio Ferdinand has suffered a knee injury in training and the defender is now having a scan at hospital.

The England players were put through their paces for the first time at their Rustenburg training base on Friday, with the World Cup now fast approaching.

The Three Lions will get their quest for global glory up and running against United States on 12th June and are desperate to head into the tournament with their strongest side available.

That includes national skipper Ferdinand, with the Manchester United centre-half set to marshal the heart of their back four.

However, his involvement is now in doubt after he picked up an untimely injury in training.
Concern

Capello claims the problem is not too serious but admits he faces an anxious wait on the results of a scan before the picture becomes any clearer.

"The bad news is that in the last moments of the training session Rio suffered a problem with his knee," said the England boss.

"He has gone to hospital for a scan. We will have to see how things are. He did it during a tackle.

"It was a normal tackle, but there was a slight problem. It was his left knee. We have to wait for the scan."

Capello also confirmed that goalkeeper David James was forced to sit out the session after picking up a slight knock.

"David James has a little problem with his knee, but it is not a big problem," he said.

Drogba has fractured his elbow.

Shouldn't imagine it rules him out.

Drogba had just put the Ivorians ahead when he was injured in a 15th-minute clash with Japan central defender Tulio and left the field clutching his right arm.

Unconfirmed reports from Switzerland suggest the Chelsea star has fractured his elbow, an injury which would force him out of the World Cup

Rio Ferdinand out.

Karma.

He's been terrible this season, King has been better this season tbf. Dawson has also had a very good season going into the World Cup. No doubt some people will be crying, but I'm not as he has been torn apart on several occasions this season, whereas King and Dawson have been solid.

Easier to live without Ferdinand than some others.

Ferdinand :D:D:D

Is it weird that i am more disappointed about Drogba's injury than Rio's?

I found myself wondering if i want other teams to win the WC more than England. I probably don't, but i thought i'd be more excited about England so close to the tournament. Instead i'm just very very excited for the tournament itself.

Did you see that N Korea tried to fiddle the squad by putting a striker down as the third goalkeeper, thereby having 21 out field players.
Fifa noticed this and said it is ok as long as he only plays in goal.

Surely you only have to have 11 players on the pitch and you do not have to nominate a goalkeeper
