Bangkok, Nov 9 (Prensa Latina) The flood death toll in Thailand reached 527, while 800,000 people residing in the outskirts of the city try to survive in a city whose streets are covered with one meter of water.

Floods have affected nearly over two million people, while more than 200,000 are still evacuated in 25 of the 76 provinces of the country, the Bangkok Post newspaper report informed.

Every day nearly 200 new cases of diarrhea, fungus infections and other diseases appear, caused by contaminated water, according to a note of the Ministry of Health.

The disaster began in July when rivers and swamps in the northern and central regions of Thailand overflowed due to heavy rains caused by a monsoon and three tropical storm in a row.

The Thai government announced a long-term plan aimed at preparing the country for future floods.

and it's pushed hard drive prices through the roof, as western digital and a load of other HD manufacturers have their entire operations out there. seen 1tb drives go from around £80 to around £180. won't get back to normal until Q2/Q3 next year.

because, y'know, the first world's need for technology is the most important thing in that story.
