Vinny dropping him is exactly what he wanted. Vinny did exactly the right thing by not lowering himself to his level. I feel sorry for Barton that he has to constantly behave appallingly to get the attention he craves. He's not talented enough to get it any other way.

On the BBC he said "The head was never gone at any stage, once I'd been sent off, one of our players suggested I should try to take one of theirs with me. It never worked but god loves a trier."

In addition to the standard ban for a red card, I believe. I'd give him another charge for admitting to cheating too. Well actually, I'd have him put down like any other dangerous animal, but that's probably why I'm not in a position of power. And to think, he's actually the member of his family that turned out well. Imagine Christmas dinner at their house.

I was hoping the law might charge him too.
