Why does it happen to us? why cant we develop consistency to run parallel with the development of our fantastic youth team. We have the potential- with steady nurturing- to produce a team similar to that of the United team of the 1990's yet we cannot do this because we cannot even keep a manager for one year.

No we have instability issues to address, not to mention the loss of time which could be spent negotiating transfer targets to improve the squad in preparation for an improvement on last years domestic campaigna and the added bonus of european football.

Furthermore, this issue may demoralise and destabalise the squad provoking the sale of some of our better players. We are already resigned to the impending departure of Richard Dunne but i also feel that we may be resigned to losing one or two others. Obviously, it's best to remain incredulous when scouring the media but it is our only window into the background of our team. We should be able to keep Richards for at least the next two years unless one or two substantial offers arise but i dont feel we have enough resolve to maintain our defense for too long. In addition, the speed at which Michael Johnson develops is going to be crucial with regards to whether or not he plys his trade in a blue shirt in the future. Other could follow, we have this youth system so why can't we utilise it effectively.

This circumstance could resonate around the entire club so unless we begin to look at the bigger picture the future may be bleak . We are in danger of becoming the nursery club which simply starts the development of players and then passes them on to the bigger clubs who will benefit more in the long run. Anyone who states that at least the financial gain is sufficient is obviously a incompetant football fan, a club needs success, all finance does is line the pockets of the greedy businessman who runs the company- we all know who this is- he who shall not be named anymore!

So our next step now looks likely to be mark hughes but will it be the the right move, a move forward only time will tell but its time we got some stability otherwise some of our great young players will only spend a short time at our club and move on, rendering us stuck in time.
