Well yeah, but who in their right mind would replace someone of Svens caliber with Mark fucking Hughes. I don't know about anyone else, but i don't particularily want an ex rag at the club.

Well, I'm not a fan of Hughes, but if he's appointed the manager then of course I will support him fully. Therefore I'm going to reserve judgement on the new manager until any official announcements are made.

Remember the outcry when Sven was linked to the club. People wanted to lynch Thaksin for appointing him. How things change.

Gonna have to be one fucking great manager to out do sven, and Mark Hughes is not the answer. Scolari on the otherhand might just be the man to give us Cl league football. I would be happy with Him or Zico, even frank Rijkaard.

I don't think Sven should have been sacked, in fact I believe he earned another year, but he's hardly set the league on fire has he. I'm just saying that given our second half of the season and given the hatred that most fans on this forum felt for Sven before he was appointed, surely any manager that Frank chooses should be given a chance to prove himself. Who knows, Hughes might turn out to be the perfect fit. Who actually knows.

Oh and no, I don't really want Hughes but as I already said, I'll support him if he is appointed.

I dont rate frank Rijkaard at all.

I don't doubt that Hughes could do a good job as far as league positioning goes, I just dont think we'd get football played in what Brian Clough woulda called "the right way".

I thought he did very well in the 5 years he was at Barca, lovly free flowing attacking football.

I think he inherited what was already a good team. Added to by the club. I say by the club because you never really know who's behind the signings a Barca. And in the last couple of seasons the performances have got steadily worse.

Rijkaard took Barcelona to the next level as he phased out the old guard and rebuilt a new look side around Ronaldinho, with players like Deco, Samuel Eto'o, Rafa Marquez, and Edmilson. He eventually succeeded in turning around the fortunes of the club, with the strong support of Laporta, and within the next couple of years finally managed to win La Liga both in 2004–05 and in 2005–06.

Can't see him coming to City to be honest, though if he does i hope he brings Bentley and Santa cruz with him.

He won't need it. I was at QPR away when Coppell was first the manager. We sang Stevie Coppell's Blue and White army for the entire match. One of the best atmospheres ever. The guy was an ex rag twat who couldn't hack the pressure but he was our manager then and he was praised for it. That's what I expect from City fans if Hughes does get the job.
