No way - Jose

JOSE Mourinho has ruled himself out of an unlikely move to Eastlands.

The former Chelsea boss and self-styled Special One has admitted he has rejected approaches from at least 10 clubs - including one thought to be from floundering City as they prepare to jettison Sven-Goran Eriksson.

The former Chelsea boss is set to return to management after eight months on the sidelines but has indicated he doesn't want to take a `step backwards.' Although he has been linked with Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Barcelona, they all now have coaches in mind for next season.

He said: "As I'm not prepared to take a step back and become a mid-level coach, I'll either work for a big club or I won't work. Full stop.

"That's why in these past few months I've turned down - I don't know - eight, nine or 10 clubs, because I wasn't prepared to take a step backwards.

"Right now I have one priority: I would like to coach in either the Spanish or Italian championship, as these are the strongest in the world."

Eriksson, meanwhile, will land in Thailand this afternoon ready to meet owner Thaksin Shinawatra and discover what fate has in store for him.

It may, however, be the weekend before the review of the whole club has been concluded. City face a Thai All Star XI on Saturday night.

He's a cheeky bastard. "A step back"? Does he not know that we're the best in all the land in all the world?

Fuck him. He'll be kicking himself this time next year....

Didnt Sven say something similar on Inside Sport? Then 2 months later he's sat on the bench at city. I am banning myself from reading any red top newspaper until next season commences.....as its all poppycock in general...

Ha ha! You've cracked the code. I'll order my City shirt with 'Mourinho 08' on now before the rush starts.

A saying I've read before (originally in relation to F1, but applies equally to the Premier League) is "Don't believe anything until it's been officially denied". Therefore he'll be here within the week - Ergo sum, QED, Bob's your uncle.

I'm voting for Joe Mercer's wife. She knows the skinny. We do get to vote, right? She totally has the skillz. I hope we get to vote. Can I change my mind? I want Frank Clark. He was the best manager we ever had. How did we not win the title with him in charge. His tache alone is worth 20 points a season. I believe he has a subtle dong too. Vote Frank. Do it and he'll be our manager. I'm starting a petition. Wait, not Frank Clark. I'm thinking of Groucho Marx.

Nought, ta. Everything is copacetic. I'm starting the Frank Clark appreciation society. You can be a founding member if you like.
