So I wonder how much this Pep news has affected recent performances and how it will till the end of the season.

I think Pellers has done pretty well since he arrived and the team in general has done better under him. This year has been bit odd though.

good read squidge.

And mostly correct.
The final nail is the pep announcement at a really strange time, mid season.
And that has had a derailing effect, no matter what.

I ..me, old kimbo here....Im now just wondering how pep is going to manage us, who is he going to attract to the club, what is the next level for us, and for the current team, who is going to depart...

now if i am already looking to next season, the players must be.
And that alone is having a adverse affect on the season right now..

it all boils down to that call he made, to say peps on the way...
he did it his way, but its scuppered him..

top 4 is imperative, as we ain't going to win the CL..
pep would not be happy being a europa side..

sort it the fuck out pellers ..

First of all, thanks!

I'm torn on this right. On the one hand I think yeah, it can't help the players knowing that they're playing to impress a new man who has already said he is watching videos of every game, as well as trying to keep their place.

But on the other hand I do just think this is how we are under Pellegrini and I'm not convinced we'd be any different either way.
People made a big deal of the fact we lost back-to-back to Leics and Spurs and it was the first consecutive home losses in however many years. But then, again, how many times have we come up against first and second place in successive games at home in that time?

Fact is, because Pellegrini is so fucking stubborn and refuses to ever plan for the opposition, Leicester and Spurs are currently better teams than us - the results shouldn't have been a surprise to anybody. People were surprised Leicester hammered us because of their name - anybody who has watched us both this season should've seen that result as a possibility. They have arguably the best creative player in the league this season in Mahrez (arguably joint with Payet idk) and we made no plans for him, gave him the run of the pitch - suicide.

We also can't handle teams pressing us and Spurs and Liverpool are probably the two best pressers in the league (Liverpool depend on how they're feeling that day tbf) - so Spurs were always likely to come and beat us I thought. Liverpool was always a possibility of being turned over but I was surprised how easy it was.

We've not had that spark for any consistent period for well over 18 months. Remember when we lost at West Ham last season and Allardyce said it was easy to work Pellegrini out because he plays one way so you don't have to worry about him changing? Every team worth anything has worked that out now.

So whilst I'm sure the Pep announcement hasn't been a massive help to anybody, I also think our problems exist away from that psychological side of things, just think MP has no tactical ingenuity. His way was fucking glorious while it worked but he's got nothing else to offer.

If we'd gone on this run and no announcement had been made, we'd be asking what effect the speculation and uncertainty was having.
