to win the league or to be 10 points better than them wherever we finish.

you can't say both

Winning the league! Without doubt.

I think we can win two trophies (minimum) this year.

yeah. it's weird i'm not even taking that much active pleasure out of their situation, more just like calm reassured satisfaction. they're shit now, and they have absolutely no idea how to deal with it. we've bigger fish to fry.

Nonsense. If they finish the season in a Europa spot or lower I will literally wet myself laughing. Of course I would prefer to win the league, irrelevant of how many points ahead of them we are

unlikely they'll finish 5th, spuds are going to win that race and if not then everton or southampton.

tbf both is a distinct possibility, but definitely the league would make me happier.

I'm always more interested in what City achieve rather than the failures of the Scum, HOWEVER, if United don't qualify for the CL next season this could be the start of an avalanche of catastrophe for our arrogant neighbours.

Finances: not only will they miss out on the obvious revenues that being in the CL provide they will also see a colossal fall in sponsorship and commercial deals all of which will be ramped according to appearances in Europe. I'm only guessing but wouldn't be surprised if this was as much as a 25 to 30% drop in gross income maybe even more.

In order to recover the situation the Glazers will be forced to sanction a big budget rebuilding of the squad although whether they can find the £150m+ that is probably needed is highly questionable.

Which brings us to the next issue.

Players: some (Rooney/RVP?) will want out. Others will be have to be offloaded in a fire sale.
Then attracting good players without the prospect of CL football means either paying them over the odds or settling for second tier players and hoping for the best. This restructuring will not only be expensive but also be risky and unlikely to be a quick fix.

I may be wrong but I confidently predict a cataclysmic meltdown at the swamp which I look forward to witnessing enormously.
The long term outcome will probably be a change of ownership to someone with a lot deeper pockets than the Glazers but the next few seasons should be hugely amusing.

Read some paper bollocks earlier about the scum making Arturo Vidal their number one target this January. As if they could afford him / he'd want to come. he's an amazing player, I'd cry my eyes out if they got him. If Juve are stupid enough to make him available, we should break the bank for him, maybe offer Garcia / Edin / anyone they like to sweeten the deal.

Just imagine: they splurge £40m on him. Still miss out on Europe. Then they sell him for £20m in the fire sale predicted by the Messiah. Lovely stuff

The league for me, they have to finish below us which is an added bonus.
I'm enjoying their showing this season enormously tbf

Manager David Moyes admits there is no guarantee Wayne Rooney will sign a new contract if Manchester United fail to qualify for the Champions League at the end of the season. The 28-year-old striker will enter the final year of his £250,000-a-week deal in the summer.

Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi says he would have ‘committed suicide’ had he signed for Manchester United during the summer.
The 30-year-old was linked with a move to Old Trafford but instead remained with his hometown club, who sit second in Serie A while United languish in seventh in the Premier League.
And De Rossi believes his decision to stay in the Italian capital has been vindicated.
