At the risk of broaching the subject of the elephant in the corner of the room...

In light of the recent vote for FFP rules in the Premier League, and with UEFA FFP rules already in place, I am wondering if we will be able to continue to be successful, or if those that want to maintain the status quo will get their way.

Thinking positively, a possible worst case would be that we start to get penalised for over-spending and this continues until our new academy bears enough fruit to keep us self-sufficient, so to speak.

The owners have always known this was coming and I am sure they will have made sure everything will be ship shape by the time these regulations come in

If we become 'only' a regular top four finisher then I'll be extremely happy

Are you sure about this? I know the UEFA rules have been expected for a while now, but I thought the FA version was relatively new.

I must admit that I was stunned that the vote passed. Basically, the majority of the clubs in the league are happy for the rags to remain dominant.

However, I agree with you on this:

The FA version is fairly new but part of the plans for the clubs expansion, professionally, globally and financially would have to involve the Champions League and ultimately aiming to be successful in it. We'd therefore have to abide by UEFA FFP. Unless the FA FFP is different, abiding by one would mean abiding by the other. FA FFP probably makes little difference

Aren't we running at a pretty hefty loss atm? Wage bill sky high and all that. I wonder how we'll blag FFP?

Perhaps some ridiculously large sponsorship and stadium naming rights deal with some non-profit organisation?

That could help.

There must be some tax loophole we can exploit?
