Hi.

I'm a City supporter of 20 years. When we're not playing, i go and watch a team called Maine Road FC, who were formed in the 1950's by a group of Blues and who play in Chorlton. Next Monday (the 15th), we've got a home cup game against Hyde FC, whose ground City gave a bit of a spruce up a year or so ago and who now host our EDS games.

It's quite a big game for Maine Road, as Hyde now play at Level 5 (of the overall pyramid), and us Level 9. We average around 100 through the gate per game, and see this as a chance to get a few more down. A good number of our regulars are City fans, the club play in sky blue, and even have a club crest simiar to the old City badge.

If you're not doing anything next Monday night, you'd be more than welcome at Brantingham Road. It's pay on the gate, tickets are usually £5, £3 concessions, and programmes, brews, pies, etc, are normally available. We're in the centre of Chorlton (postcode M21 0TT).

I can thoroughly recommend a night out at Brantingham Rd.

I won't be going though. Sorry, it's a no from me.

Yeah i might pop over. I used to go and watch them play in the 90's quite a bit.

They had a good team in the early 90s - I remember them battling it out with Bacup Borough at the top of Bass NW Counties Division 2.

About 7 years ago, Fleetwood beat Maine Road 7-0 in the league, and look at them now

Very strange how things change so quickly!

Unfortunately, this game has had to be called off.

One of Maine Road's players suffered a bad injury yesterday, meaning that fixture (away v Barnoldswick) has had to be rescheduled for Tuesday.

I'll let you know the new date as soon as possible, just in case any of you were planning on coming down.

Thanks.
