I think the rumours have come about because he's already upset with the state of affairs. Doesn't get on with the president or vice president and contract talks have broken down. Probably nothing will come of it but stranger things have happened. No need to be so dismissive, we can dream :)

I wasn't being dismissive I was being pie in the sky optimistic. It'd help if we gave them a proper rough bumming though, maybe even get demichelis on the scoresheet to rub salt in the wounds

It is the 3rd of January and we haven't signed anyone yet never mind Messi.
More importantly we haven't got rid of anyone either.

I was all set to happily see Kolarov leave this January, however, his performances have been steadily improving lately and I think he's a better first choice than Clichy at the moment.

I never expected to find myself uttering those words

Yeh I like Kolarov too, excellent team minded player, flashes of brilliance and has cut down on the silly stuff he used to get found out by. Bit like Zabs maturing, if you remember when he was shit at first. I think he also loves City, he seems a happy dude.

strikes me has been here for years now too. was he the triple signing with petrov and elano? that was Sven, fucking years ago.

Nah, he was a Mancini signing. Always seems to be a very popular member of the squad - a bit of a joker.

Wasn't a trio, if memory serves we got Bianchi, Elano, Petrov, Corluka, Garrido and Bojinov in the same summer.

Zabaleta was a Hughes signing I think - or at least, it was made whilst he was in charge

We have Sven to thank for starting the trend towards attractiveness in our players. Thanks Sven.

you're right, but there was one day i was sure we signed three players out of the blue.

could've been four though.

basically, i don't know anything.

i do remember someone posting on here 'Kompany isn't a centre half'

rofl.

There's no point sticking with Hughes just for the sake of it. I've just watched saturdays game again and it's even worse than I first thought. Kompany is not a centre half and zab is messed about constantly. Bridge is a liability from what we've seen so far and Im convinced Robiniho is not putting it in for Hughes. Sadly we're going to have to try again for stability. In any case why should be grieve for him we're no better or worse than if he never joined us.

Isn't this the super negative guy?

See above picture. Elano, Garrido and Corluka. Bojinov was around the same time hence the press conference with all 4.

No mentions for Bianchi, Gelson and Geovanni? Maybe they were Paddy's mysterious "3 players"? :8ball:

I was at Kompany's debut, it's not rose tinted glasses when I say I raved about him to Mrs C. He was fucking immense in DM. His concentration used to be a bit suspect at CB I seem to remember, he's obviously sorted that out

Tell you what, so far this window I've seen nothing in the papers that says we're not signing Messi.

This is definately happening!

Played in the middle then dropped back in defense..all in his first match.
I thought then we have a gem of a player..

The signs are all there for the well initiated. I can't wait for this. We should play less defenders and just score more than anyone.
