Cheeky bugger

wherever mancini wants and however long mancini chooses.

this kid's a bit young to be making demands like this. does such confidence in their ability ever pay off in reality with such players?

To be fair, it sounds like (though it may not be the case that) he has offers from us, United and Chelsea all offering pretty much just north of £100k per week and a transfer fee of £32m (release clause). All three are in the Champions League and likely to stay there. All three are realistically going to compete for the league (albeit we're favourites from United from Chelsea). Given the fairly similar proposals that all three clubs can offer, it's hardly surprising that his position and playing time will be relevant. The guy needs to stop talking to the media quite so much but I don't think this (or a few other statements he's made) are worthy of much condemnation.

You can only start making statement like these when you're proven, not when you've had a couple of good seasons in the frog's leg league

I really, really hope we've just told him to fuck off because he's gone about this in the most bigheaded twat way imaginable. His agent is pocketing £7million from the deal apparently.

I've honestly stopped caring that much. I previously wanted him to come - I guess I still do - but I'm just pretty damn bored of the whole affair. Fuck it, let him go to Chelsea and let's buy Shinji Kagawa instead. He's a very useful player and we might just boost our fanbase*.

If Mario gets his act together next season we won't really need him ( and that's if Tevez stays). Every new player is a risk... however, unlike Dzeko, Llorente has had more than one excellent season...

Dzeko scored 26 league goals in the 08-09 season followed by 22 in 09-10. Llorente has yet to top 20 (he only scored 3 more than Dzeko in this past season). His play is excellent and he can score some great goals but I don't think he's enough of a step-up to be a necessary purchase unless Dzeko wants out. Issues with Tevez aside, I'm happy with our front four as it is right now; I'd gladly see Tevez go but only if we could get someone equally able to replace him.

Really? Their records seem quite similar to me. Llorente scored 29 in 53 this season, but in the three seasons before that, his record is just less than 1 in 2. Whereas Dzeko was scoring at a much higher rate in the 2.5 seasons before he came to us, and got 18 in 40 last season, despite not starting many games. Definitely more than 1 good season. And he's younger.

That's assuming that the stats on Wikipedia are accurate, which is a big if, because whoever wrote it clearly can't add up.

I'd definitely like to see us get a quality winger though, so I'm kinda disappointed to miss out on Hazard despite already hating him.

Fine then. Keep Dzeko, get rid of Tevez and sign Llorente. This way everyone is happy.

I think Hazard might have been more trouble than he is worth.
