I don't think we've dodged a bullet, I think we've missed out on a really top player, and am a bit gutted. He hasn't really done that much wrong, he's had a microphone shoved in his face for over a year asking him to comment on speculation about various clubs, and he's just answered in a diplomatic way. He might have a bit of an ego but most world class players do. Why he would want to join Chelsea is beyond me. Yes they won the Champions League, but in the most appalling style. He obviously didn't watch the matches and see how shit they were against Bayern, Barca, Benfica (home), Napoli (away). I only hope they rotate him with Mata and don't get the best out of either of them.

They need to break the bank to compete with us next season, losing Drogba will be very hard on them IMO, who do you replace him with?
I reckon they are at a lower level than last season currently, two great signings so far but they were already starting from a fair way back.

Beside Hazzard, who is the 2nd?

Agreed by the way, not many of team are 'great'. Droba is a big loss and their midfield beside Mata is aging.

First time I have ever heard of him actually.

How many more times will we hear this phrase 'the new messi'. Did they use to say that about Maradona?

I think German Messi is a new one tbf.

The Israeli one turned out to be a bit shit IIRC.

Oh yeah I forgot about that guy. They're doing alright for nippy, light-weigh wingers now aren't they? Bet Sturridge is reviewing his options closely at the moment.

I don't think there'll be another Messi in my lifetime. 73 goals in all competitions this season. Seventy three. Absolutely ridiculous, and Barca didn't win anything apart from the Spanish Cup!

They have De Bruyne to come in as well don't they?

Sturridge sees himself as a CF anyway doesn't he? Maybe he want's to be new new Drogba

Not being funny but if he works at it he could do just that. Drogba wasn't excellent until he was 26+ was he? Sturridge has great potential.

That was a typo but I suppose, with Lukaku being the new Drogba, Studge would have to settle for being the new new Drogba.

He was the biggest diver in the Bundesliga, generally an overrated prick well he might help Chelsea.

I hate chelsea but I hate spurs and stoke and liverpool and everton (and any team that beats us) in equal measure. I have VIP treatment hatred for united. Teams I don't particularly hate right now: newcastle, sunderland, fulham, villa.

i have a long memory so hate fulham from the days when they were our bogey team

looks like the next chav manager will have to do what the fuck he's told by roman and terry and pick torres, mata, hazard regardless.

if it wasn't for the huge pay off they will get after six months when they get the push for actually having an opinion you'd almost feel sorry for them

Lol, diplomatic would have been 'no comment', not what he's been actively doing over the past few weeks which is intentionally dropping hints in an attempt to increase speculation and force the clubs after him to offer more wages/a higher fee for his agent, who like I said before stands to make £7million out of this deal - Hazard's his only high profile client so he was very much trying to orchestrate this to squeeze as much money out of it as possible.
