Maybe the pairing works if you have a more orthodox clogger of a defender and one who is more 'dynamic'? Dunne & Distin, Ferdinand and Vidic? Lescott isn't so much a clogger but is definitely more in the old school mode when compared to Komps. Maybe as much as a left footer and right footer compliment each other, this is a factor too. Strikers never thrive when being too similar, would defenders?

I would assume thats fairly accurate. Maybe this Savic fella is the right type of guy to pair with Kompany, I havn't seen him play much so i don't know. Defenders from his part of the world do seem to fit a certain mould tho.

He was a 'dynamic' player and I agree that in his prime would be awesome with Komps.

against everton wasn't it. i dunno. i'm drunk.

he said if he'd played for a bigger club and scored that goal he'd have been all over the papers in france, with us he got nothing. he made the right choice for him.

decent player.

Imagine him in 10 or 12 years, in this video he is only 2. We need to sign him now!

Wow. That kid has Aguero and Maradonna footballing DNA, he's going to be brilliant. Can shoot better than some Premiership strikers!

was thinking today, we're gonna have Diego Maradona visit COMS at least a few times this season.

he's a legend, despite what Bert thinks. I hope he gets nowt but cheers.

i admire your optimism, but one would hope city fans can give him a good reception, especially because he's the father in law of a player.

Although Maradonna and Balotelli are both legends they are like, emotionally at opposite ends of the spectrum. Mario is moody, sullen and depressed. Maradonna is excited, charged and overly happy. Both are confident of their ability and aggressive.

They would make such beautiful children together...

*sigh*

absolutely no idea what you are talking about there geezer. perhaps you are joking, like proper looper doop type jokey stuff...cos Mario ain't no legend (yet), and DM is probably top 5 footballers EVER.

Mario's exploits are hardly those of a depressive. Giving the finger whilst giggling at rooney's hooker, for example.

My statement walks on a very thin edge of piss taking and semi-truths. I used the term 'legend' far too liberally, for this error i apologise. To me Mario is a legend, but he's my legend. A very unique and special chap if you ask me, even if his exploits on the pitch don't yet deserve him a legend title.

This incident alone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erI5dG3_R5E

Meant he would always share a special place in my heart.

He's so self destructive and chaotic it just makes him awesome to watch, even if it means we lose or look silly.

If there were Oscars for football this game would win everything.

Best game, best come back, best goals, best 10 man performance, our best away performance, best save.

Yet to see a better game.
