Who, apparently, Capello hasn't even met.

It just strikes me that when the young players are playing in a tournament like this, Capello should be there watching. For £6m a year, he should be watching what may be the future of the England team.

really?

i would have thought that the first order of business would have been to meet the coaches of all teams that represent the national side so that you are all aware of what is expected

that's not very good planning

What surprises do we reckon will be in the 25?

he should be forced to watch every single game and training session that has an relevance whatsoever to the national side, current or future.

actually, sod forced, he should be doing that anyway for the pay he's on.

I would like it to end up looking this way. But, we are really playing a guessing game at the moment.

Home grown players:
Joe Hart (ENG) - the future of England
Stuart Taylor (ENG) - 2 year extention (great experince).
Micah Richards (ENG) - a player for the future.
Nedum Onuoha (ENG) - another player for the future.
Joleon Lescott (ENG) - great expectations ahead.
Wayne Bridge (ENG) - will be a great sqaud player and will compete for a starting place).
Michael Johnson (ENG) - on the way to recovery (great player for the future).
Gareth Barry (ENG) - A player that would help the shape of the team.
Adam Johnson (ENG) - the future still ahead of him.
Shaun Wright-Phillips (ENG) - great player to have around.
Craig Bellamy (WAL) - Keeping him in the squad is more than enough. He will keep on competting and pushing for a starting place.

Foreign players:
Shay Given (IRL) - will compete for a starting place.
David Gonzales (COL)
Aleksandar Kolarov (SER) - a player that will bring a new character to the team.
Pablo Zabaleta (ARG) - a versatile player.
Jerome Boateng (GER) - one for the future.
Vincent Kompany (BEL) - a great player.
Kolo Toure (CIV) - the captain.
Patrick Vieira (FRA)- great experince.
Yaya Toure (CIV) - Will be a starter.
Nigel de Jong (NED) - will be pushed to the bench, but we will need him.
Stephen Ireland (IRL) - I would rather stick with Ireland rather falling for Milner.
David Silva (ESP) - Will be a key figure in our coming seasons.
Roque Santa Cruz (PRY) - He deserves a second chance. I would keep him ahead of Jo and Caicedo.
Carlos Tevez (ARG) - Best player last season.
Emmanuel Adebayor (TGO) - He will be a key figure this season.
Mario Balotelli (ITA) - (?)

Under 21s:
Dedryck Boyata (BEL)
Javan Vidal (ENG)
Greg Cunningham (IRE)
Abdisalam Ibrahim (NOR)
Vladimir Weiss (SVK)
Alex Tchuimeni-Nimely (ENG)

Loan:
Gunnar Nielsen (FAR)

To be sold:
Shaleum Logan (ENG)
Javier Garrido (ESP) - A key figure of signing David Silva.
Kelvin Etuhu (NGA)
Robinho (BRA)
Jo (BRA)
Felipe Caicedo (ECU)

City boss says there has been no problem with midfielder

Roberto Mancini has dismissed reports of a problem with Stephen Ireland, but has yet to decide whether the midfielder will be in his Manchester City squad this season.

New Premier League rules being introduced for the coming campaign require Mancini to name a 25-man squad and there have been claims Ireland will be overlooked.

Mancini has boosted his midfield options significantly since taking charge at City and Ireland has attracted interest from Sunderland.

There have also been rumours of a row during the club's pre-season trip to the USA, but Mancini is keeping an open mind regarding Ireland's future.

Up to him

"Right now I don't know who will miss out," said Mancini. "I have not decided anything about Stephen Ireland.

"There has been no problem with him on the tour. I don't know how it's possible for him to think anything other than that he has a chance of a future here because I haven't decided.

"It is up to him to prove himself to me."

Craig Bellamy is another player who may struggle to make the cut for the new season and Mancini concedes he has some tough decisions on his hands.

He added: "We have 30 players, maybe more, and we have to get it down to 25 before the end of August.

"So it is clear that some of the players we have here are going to be left off that list. I am not sure yet if one of those will be Craig Bellamy.

"At this moment it is impossible to know which players will be on that final list."
