Bert mentioned this and Danny talked awhile ago (albeit tongue in cheek) about using the forum to validate his fan credentials...

This idea that there are loads of glory hunters is a bit ridiculous isn't it. I think we need to win something before we get swamped with people who've 'always been City fans'. I really don't think money alone creates fakes.

Also does anyone choose City? especially for its tradition history and legends? Wouldn't we all be Liverpool fans? Surely most are born into it.

I personally was slowly tricked into City by the missus over a period of 10 years until I was hooked... like heroin. I don't know if it's enjoyable really, I just can't do without it.

I'd have agreed, but after the state of this World Cup and all the 'celebrity' footballers, can't wait to the daily grind of City

I don't think on the ground City have been swamped with glory hunters, I wasn't aware of anyone at any games last season who didn't have a Manc accent, (apart from me). There are a few gimps on the internet who decide they're City fans for a few weeks but it soon wears off.

I think one thing that will happen is young kids in the North West who are just starting to get into football will choose to support City, which is a good thing. Once you're bitten and that blue venom is in your veins there's no getting rid of it.

I am really looking forward to this season, City will improve on 5th I feel. Plenty of time to chat about that later.

I might however express my increasing disgust with footballers, highlighted by the World Cup. The diving, cheating, play-acting, 6'4" athletes feigning injury from sometimes not even being touched rolling on the floor with what you'd think was a career ending injury (yes I'm looking at you Lucio), english footballers not giving a fuck yet probably being the highest paid national team (fact?), french footballers refusing to train because they didnt like what the manager did, players after a foul motioning to the referee to card the offender. It is not all players but most sadly.

These are not men.
