Seems like we will be signing this guy.

21yo, 1,92m, defender, estimaed value of 11,5 Mio Euros, kicker.de says he will be signed from Hamburg for 12 Mio €.

He is, by the way, the little brother of Portsmouth's Kevin Prince Boateng.

HSV: Boateng will change

Already on 25 March was the kicker reports exclusively on changing intentions of Jerome Boateng to Manchester City. Now confirmed the Hamburger SV, the national player wants to leave the club at the end of the season. The 21-year-old, whose contract runs until 2012, can change for a transfer fee as enshrined by 12 million euros.

HSV wanted to buy the player the contract clause stating that he can go in the summer enshrined twelve million euros, with a raise and an extension of the working paper from 2012 to 2013, while the player and his advisor Joerg Neubauer also envisioned a single payment. It appears that Manchester City makes use of the clause. The British have the most intensive efforts to Boateng - and should get the award.

"The consultant of the player, Jörg Neubauer, has informed us that Jerome would like to change in the summer," confirmed spokesman Joern Wolf HSV-now the German Press Agency.

Before Boateng already Nigel de Jong and Vincent Kompany from Hamburger SV was changed to Manchester City.

I have a feeling he will be like our O'Shea (without the gayness ofc).

Able to fit anywhere along the back four and be a decent player for many years.

Very happy if true.

Can play anywhere along the backline, hard worker and skillful. Saw him play when i was in Germany a couple of months ago and was very impressed.

We're gonna have half the old Hamburg team before too long. If they're so great, how come Hamburg weren't romping the Bundesliga?

Hamburg have some decent players tbf and have finished in the top 5 in 3 of the last 4 years.

They've got good players like Petric, Nistelrooy and Berg too.

Well, there will be more players we buy from smaller german or dutch clubs and a few years later there comes the big money from Britain
Unfortunately our manager has gone at the beginning of the season and is now manager of Red Bull Salzburg, Red Bull New York and a few other Red Bull related football-things. I hope this won´t be a problem in the future for you and ourselves
Why we don´t dominate the league? Well, we have done so at the beginning of this season, but our most important attacking player Guerrero ("Waterboy" ^^) had an heavy knee injury, also the other top players were injured like Ze Roberto, Elia, Jansen, Petric...so if this would have happened to any other big club in germany they wouldn´t be in the first half of the table.
So if I should give you a prediction who will be the next "Hamburger" for you, you should have a look at Elia. Spectacular and strong left winger but has still to suffer from a foul a few months ago.

Back to Boateng. I personally think he´s better than Kompany but not as talented (but also big talent) if that makes sense ^^ He´s really fast, good at tackling, his long passes/crosses are amazing but still has problems heading. Always seems to be "lazy", but this is just his "cool" outter appearance ;)
My personal opinion? Fair deal. I think you overpaid us for De Jong, made a little bargain with Kompany and Boateng 12.5Mio€ is fair valued (also the amount is given in Boatengs contract, so we have no choice also if it wouldn´t be a fair deal for us).

Sorry for bad language:whistle:

After this guy we're lining up Marek Hamsik apparently. He'd be an awesome signing, but won't come cheap - £25m being banded around.

Amazing player.

Would need even more than $25M i think, Napoli would be loathe to give him up. Essential to their CL ambitions ..

I like this policy of buying good up and comings rather than established players, if it's all true.

This signing will herald the exit of Onuoha imo. Shame really.
