Made a bid for him according to breaking news on SSN. 22 year old left winger. Don't know much about him tbh, but he's out of contract in the summer, young and English. 11 goals in 21 games this season according to Wikipedia, so he can't be too bad.

Just seen this myself, Can he play left back, cause we were fuckin tragic there today, Garrido was poor and Zabs is by no means a left-back.

Johnson's one of the best players to come out of Boro's academy, and considering they're responsible for Morrison, Cattermole and Downing, that's no mean feet. Good player.

Most Middlesborough fans were happy to see Downing go, just to give this lad a chance.

Very impressive young player, good stuff from the club.

Bloody good ratio that for a winger. Real were supposedly after him last season which isn't a bad thing to have on yer cv. Probably spell the end of Robbie. Any figures banded round?

Real have been after loads of people. They were after Steven Fletcher (now at Burnley) not so long since.

If true it means curtains for Petrov in the summer, or maybe before. Grumpy moaning old fucker.

And Faubert... For an 18 yr old or whatever he was to be on their radar though is a sign that he's a bit handy.

Hope it is true btw. One of the stand-out players in that league and for England U21s.

Petrov's a twat, but so is Bellamy. All that matters is performance.

Bellamy isn't a twat. He does a bit of moaning on the pitch. He's an irritant.

Off the pitch he seems a fucking top fella, what with his work in Sierra Leone and that.

Haven't seen much of Johnson tbh but i know he has been highly rated for a while so, based on other people's opinions, i'd probably be pretty happy with this.

City set for Johnson swoop

January 27, 2010
Manchester City will attempt to get over their Carling Cup disappointment by signing England Under-21 star Adam Johnson from Middlesbrough.

It is understood the Blues have lodged a bid for Johnson and they hope to conclude a deal before the end of the transfer window.

Johnson scored twice for Boro in their victory over Doncaster on Tuesday night but has been touted for a move away from the Riverside since the Teessiders were relegated last season.

The 22-year-old is a product of the prolific Boro academy, despite being born in nearby Sunderland.

Although he was largely viewed as a deputy to Stewart Downing, the winger’s long-term injury and subsequent move to Aston Villa offered Johnson the chance to shine and he has taken the extra responsibility in his stride.

As Boro at the moment look unlikely to reclaim their place in the top flight for next season, a move may appeal to Johnson, particularly to a club like City, who are on the rise, despite the setback at Old Trafford.

Certainly money would not appear to be a block to any possible deal, so, if Johnson believes it represents a worthwhile step forward, it is hard to imagine it will fail to be pushed through.

Nah dont agree. You can tell Bellamy is there totally for the team and the club, whereas Petrov is just there for himself, even when he celebrates he tries to make out as if no one else was involved.
