He's not the best dm in the world. He does a job, but won't be necessary if Viera's playing. We only need one of them, the team would lose a lot more by dropping Stevie.

Will he play at all I wonder?

This does have a slight ring of "signing a big name player to raise the club's profile". Can't blame him for swapping Inter's bench for ours though if that is the case - especially if his rumoured salary is correct to within a few grand.

why would we pay those wages especially after a loss of 90 mil, he's already sitting in the hospital wing with a calf injury.

That loss does not take into account the Arab investment, a sizeable chunk of our income. And he isn't a real sicknote, it's just a slight knock.

You do understand the significance of this loss, right? Or lack of significance more to the point. And yes, it's just a knock he got at the end of his last Inter game.

if they bring in the situation where a clubs transfers can only be funded from their own revenue then 90 mil is a harsh loss.

There will be a way around that.

Then we will show a profit, not a loss. We spent millions so we were only ever going to make a loss. It is only an operating loss. There is no actual debt. If they bring in the transfer embargo then it will be shown to be an illegal situation that restricts trade and will not be ratified or else our owners will buy up merchandise to the value of the players we buy. There is always a way around it.

I agree with you on all of that, but isn't that effectively what the transfer window is?

Am i right in thinking that the 6+5 rule comes into it next season.

6 homegrown and 5 Foreigners. Now by home grown that means the UK and not just English???

I just Wiki'd it and i really just wish i hadn't.

Probably. I've not studied law so I can't really say. The point may well be that the clubs all agree to the window, whereas a situation that restricts an individual club would cause more trouble.

We may well see this when CHelsea take their transfer ban to the court of appeal. Kind of a test case for this.
