Kasper Schmeichel has linked up again with Sven-Goran Eriksson at Notts County for an undisclosed fee.
The former Denmark Under-21 goalkeeper, who joined City in November 2004 when he turned 18, has faced fierce competition and played only two senior matches last season, cup-ties against Brighton and Santander.

Kasper, who had loan spells at Darlington, Bury (twice), Falkirk, Cardiff and Coventry, made his Premier League debut in August 2007 and started seven league games in all, keeping four clean sheets.

He leaves with the best wishes of everybody at the Club to join Notts, where former City manager Sven is director of football.

I knew he wanted first team football, but seriously!

Good luck to the lad. He did well for us for a time and I really wish him well.

Shame that. I thought he'd be our second choice this season and be content with that.

Way too good for League Two. He was too good for League Two two/three seasons ago when he was at Darlo making his professional debut.

Not good enough for top end of the Premiership though.

Jesus. He's not premier league but league 2? Fuck me.

Well, i am not in any way saddened by his departure but good luck to the lad.

Obviously Sven had some part to play because he could have easily made it in the Championship, possibly at lower teams in the Premiership even. Good luck to the lad.

Good reactions and instinctive play but, too small to command his area at set pieces so, as much as I like him, it's probably for the best.

Also, being small-ish he made the nets look really big at direct free kicks, which gave a big gaps for the taker to aim at, and it made me nervous.

Good luck to him. He's better than league 2 but that's why they've got Sven innit.

I really don't rate him as highly as other fans. He always comes across as a bit flappy for me, and isn't great in the air.

He's a decent young player, but Joe Hart's a lot better, so we might as well let him go.

Shame to see another youngster (relatively) go but it's understandable he wants to play first team football even at a lower level.

I thought he served us well when he played for a spell under Sven, but clearly he didn't show enough after.

He's not in his dads league and was never going to get anywhere near the first choice other than in an injury crisis, so cheers and goodbye. It hardly makes us a weaker team so meh!

I saw him play live in the derby match and thought he did fine but he can't cope with a decent cross at all.

NOTE: I sat three rows in front of his dad. Best seats in the house.
