yeah, and looking down on him cos he's short as fuck. Like a play person except he can kick a ball. Think Manuel from Fawlty Towers but minus the 'tache and longer hair.

I love Kompany, but I can't think of any of our current players who I wouldn't exchange for Messi, with the possible exception of Shay Given (one of the best in the world IMO)

Stephen Ireland. Seriously. I wouldn't.

I dont agree with any of this.

Players I would not swap for Messi;

Vincent, Barry, Ireland, Robi, Given, Ned, Toure, Petrov, Adebayor.

i'd possibly swap him for petrov. and play him on the left. the rest, no, far too different, far too important to the team as a whole.

barry ireland and vince would be supplying messi, robi and adebayor providing outlets for him, and tuore given and ned providing the steel at the back. so yeah, of those the only one i'd identify is petrov. largely because he's 30 and a winger.

I can't remember where exactly I saw it, but it just said he would be interested to play for Barcelona. I was on the News Now feed and there's that many websites, I can't remember which one I saw it on. Haven't seen it on 'main-stream' websites, so it was probably someone trying to hype it up.

I'd swap Messi for anyone in our squad. Simple, 38 goals wins trophies

not without players to win him the ball he won't.

It could have been. I saw it and I've never seen Kompany come out with any statement regarding Barcelona. As stated, probably just someone trying to hype it up, not been on Sky Sports, BBC etc.

Edit: I think it could have possibly been Tribal Football.

Although I didn't see it here first, it appears it was his agent stating he'd be willing to join Barcelona.

You say that like we don't have them, a player like Messi would take the club to the next level in the transfer market and on the pitch.

not if we swapped barry, ireland, dejong or kompany for him. a stellar forward line is nothing without ball winning and playing midfielders.

Well thats obvious... I'm not talking about swappin the majority of the squad for him that would be madness , I'm saying I would swap any individual we have at the club for Lionel Messi

i absolutely wouldn't swap any one of those four for him. it was a list of players that i wouldn't, individually, swap. goes without saying i wouldn't give them our midfield.

Me too. I can see him being one of our most important players for the next 10 years. I don't get why they'd want him when he's pretty much the same sort of player as Yaya Toure though.
