It was the change of colour of the stsation signsthat convinced me. In Yorkshire they were orange but on this side they reverted to maroon, and Diggle was the first station with these signs.
The time was mid 60's.

Well it seems the 'ownership' of the whole area has been a bit of a mess for quite a number of years. Maybe the different bits of railway were yet another law unto themselves!

Would rather Rasmus Elm, another CM that we've been linked to.

I'd rather an English prospect to be honest.

City enter Elm chase
Kalmar considering offers for highly-rated midfielder

By Kent Hedlundh Last updated: 2nd August 2009

Manchester City have joined the chase for highly-rated Swedish midfielder Rasmus Elm, who has also attracted interest from Everton and Fulham.

Elm is one of the best prospects to come out of Sweden in recent years and is expected to leave Kalmar FF before the close of the transfer window.

Heerenveen and Valenciennes have seen bids rejected for the 21-year-old, while Fulham have also reportedly failed with an offer.

He visited Everton's training ground recently and David Moyes' side had been in pole position to agree a deal for the youngster.

However, big-spending City are now showing an interest and have sent a scout to watch Elm in Kalmar's clash with Elfsborg on Sunday.

"It is correct that Manchester City will be here," Kalmar FF chairman Jonny Pettersson told Sportbladet.

"The more clubs who are interested, the better for us.

"What is important is to find a solution which is good for both Rasmus and us."

Pettersson also confirmed that Everton are still to make a concrete offer, but says Kalmar have received a bid from another Premier League side.

He added: "A serious offer has not come in from Everton. We have got offers from another English club and a Dutch one."

I bow to your superior knowledge.

Different type of player, from what I can gather.

Been described to me as an Elano type of player, minus the attitude. Still a raw talent at this stage though.

Well if he does tear up the premiership which is still 50/50 at this point, we shall just put in a heavy sum in a couple of seasons. Simple

I think he will develop better at villa than here..
We have our great youth team and are producing very good players, but he will be after breaking into the 1st team sooner rather than later, and i think his chances at villa will be better than here...

Jonno will be on the fringes now, and how good is he.?
Super steve has just stated that he would not mind losing his place to a better player, and fight for his spot.(how cool is he)...

Good luck to the delph i say..
