Man City move for Leeds teenager

Delph began his career at Bradford City before moving to Leeds in 2001
Manchester City have entered the race to sign Leeds United's highly rated midfielder Fabian Delph.
Aston Villa and Everton have also been linked with the 19-year-old left-sided player, who was withdrawn from Leeds' friendly with Burnley on Saturday.
"We have an interest in the situation," said City boss Mark Hughes after their 1-1 friendly away draw with Barnsley.
City's interest in Delph is a surprise given their summer spending spree has targeted experienced internationals.
During the summer transfer window City have spent close to £100m in signing the likes of Kolo Toure, Carlos Tevez, Roque Santa Cruz, Gareth Barry and Emmanuel Adebayor.
"He is a young player who has been brought to our attention," said Hughes of City's interest in Delph, who is likely to command a transfer fee of in excess of £6m.

Bassman and I are going to a barn in Delph to recreate a scene from a well known 80s teen flick

Tal ben hit&miss, I never seen him play so it's hard to comment. It does make me wonder why we let Sturridge go if we're now gonna gamble between 6 and 10 million on another teenageer. That money could have possibly been better spent keeping Sturridge at city.

I like Delph .
It is near Diggle.
I like Diggle.
When I was a student in York it was the first place in Lancashire that the train came to on the way home.

Delph isn't a cocky little sh*t though. Beckford is the troublemaker in the Leeds team.

Beckford is a cocky shit. loved his face at the end of the millwall game. seen a couple of Delph's goals, looks a tidy player, bit of a weed IIRC.

One of my bezzy mates is a Leeds fan and he rates Delph very very highly, but equally, says it's hard to see him being more than a middling Premiership player. He could be totally wrong of course, but I watched Leeds five or six times last season and Delph doesn't look substantially better than Beckford, for example, who's Championship-standard.

So not at that price for me. May as well let him get transferred to some Championship team/hope Leeds go up and see if he still rapes the league.

All i know is that for the last year or so he has been linked with many premier league teams and is very highly rated. Seems a high price though. Hopefully he'll be brilliant if we sign him.

Wasn't Diggle still in Yawkshire back in them days?

Leeds have said they want more money. They can fuck right off, 10 million for a league 1 player is more than enough.

That seems like a fair deal. I was thinking we should offer them this. Why not? He's unlikely to see playing time immediately so give him a year out on loan.

It was 1974, apparently, when Saddleworth came under the administrative control of Oldham as the West Riding of Yorkshire was abolished. There remains the argument that the county boundaries never changed so it is still in Yorkshire. I only know any of this because my parents live in Saddleworth and many of the locals are extremely peeved that it's not under Yorkshire control. Some of them get quite stroppy about it :D
