Manchester City have made a surprise move for Tottenham winger David Bentley, who is valued at about £12m by the north London club. (Daily Mail)

He was instrumental in RSC scoring 20 odd goals the season before last, but we definitely don't need a new right winger.

We have Tevez or Swp depending on the formation. Dont want to push Weiss down the order either?

I'd have him in a flash, Was great Under Hughes at Blackburn and if Hughes can get the best out of him again as i hope he can with Rocky it's a yes from me.

Bentley. Arrogant. Lacks commitment. If you remember a few years ago he pulled out of the England U21 squad with 'fatigue'. Also, last season.. he was unbelievably poor.

One exceptional goal does not make £12M of talent.

We are trying to build a world-class team, I don't think Bentley comes into that category somehow. Now if we could sell SWP for £25M (if that is the going rate for Ashley Young then why not) I would consider DB.

We don't need to sell to buy, true. However we want a squad that is manageable and competitive not a 50 man squad where most of them will be happy to sit on the bench

Add to that he wasn't involved in the first time most of the season. Especially after Harry Redknapp took over.
