Not in the slightest. SWP had a few seasons under his belt, had played for England and it really looked like he could push his playing career forward in a way that he wouldn't have done with Manchester City.

I wasn't convinced that DS would have cracked the first team any time soon with us. He will have less opportunity at Chelsea. I'm glad Manchester City held firm over the contract offer. He was looking for too much for what he has done so far.

A talented lad - but too thick with too much money too young and now he thnks he's the dogs.................. He'll be lucky to make the bench at Chelsea. He'll make a shed load of money, get bored of not playing with the big boys, and after 2 years he'll be off again.

His advisors must be as diluded as he is. Champions league football......pah - he won't even travel with the team never mind play with them. Sturridge is probably cutting tthrough the brake pipes on Anelkas and Drogbas Lambo's as we speak.

To be honest he'd struggle to get on our bench this season

He was my fave player back in the day, when he was always injured and never getting a game. Now he is prolly my most hated ex player. Even more so than Mr Barton

Sturridge, you want to be Robinho, you try to be Robinho, and you leave the club where you can learn from Robinho. To learn from John Terry. That's really going to improve the game of a striker, isn't it. Rant over.

Did anybody seee him at the press conference? He was talking about working with Ancelotti and said something about he'd worked with lots of other big players. Then he realised the implications of what he'd just said, meaning that he thought he was also a big player. So he backtracked saying that that's what hoped to become, a big player. People watching must have though what a cocky bastard.

Maybe he wants to pull a reverse Chris Sutton?
