It's not even worth bidding for him.

Yeah, no chance will we get him.

But at the very least it tells the players already at the club the standards required, and if they dont reach those standards then the club will look again for somebody who will. That is if we start the season with what we've already got. Maybe we have other targets besides John Terry? And I dont mean Lescott. I read Vidic was unsettled at united. But I think thats his wife not liking manchester, so there's hardly any point moving across town is there.

I've no problem with it. It may be fruitless but it shows people what we're aiming for. There's no way the plans will have been built around getting him. It's a signal, and a good one.

No points in guessing what the headline story in The Sun and the Daily Mail will be tomorrow.

EDIT : It's not actually, it's Owen to United. :D

Bid again, and again, and again......then again.

Beat the fuckers into submission.

In all seriousness, I think this is good. Sure Terry is a so called one club man, but so were Alan Smith and Wayne Rooney at a point. Ok, its a bit later on in JT's career, but still, with the money we're throwing around I'd say anyone would find it hard not to come.

Totally. And if it fails, well, we tried.

I don't get this. Anyone can bid for a player they know would never come. That doesn't show ambition, it's just stupid. So unless they know something we don't, and he is open to a move, I say we bid for someone else (*cough* Chiellini *cough*). But if he is available, he's still only 28. That's at least 5 years at the very top for a defender of his quality.

I would have agreed about Chiellini until I saw the Confed Cup. He was slow of foot and wit.

Terry is a good bid. Nothing to lose and you never know.

I've lost count of the number of times last season I posted the phrase "we lack leadership at the back". If you could pick one player in the world who'd be ideal to solve that problem it would be Terry.

He'll never come, but asking does no harm.

Especially if he says yes as a joke once and we kidnap him and anounce on SSN a verbal agreement has been made.

Not sure if it shows ambition or deperation

The Sheikh said we would be signing another 4-6 players after the Barry move (15th June). Really not sure who we are going to get or if it wil be anybody much at all.

If Tevez is keen why hasn't he signed. If Lescott costs £20m then go for it. How much would Terry cost, at least £20M but £200K a week

These are the sort of bids that are going to make us look stupid.

Chelsea said last time that JT was definitely not for sale, so why put another fucking bid in!?
