Just gone against what i never do and looked at a football rumours website and come across this.

Expect a Real Madrid fire sale.
Leaving are:
Cannavaro (Free)
Marcelo (10m)
M.Diarra (12m)
Sneijder (12m)
Van Der Vaart (15m)
Robben (17m)
Van Nistelrooy (2m)
Huntelaar (22m)
Saviola (free)

Surley Robben is worth a shout.

That Marcelo looks exactly like Robbie - worth buying just to confuse the oppo!

One striker we should have gone for, but he's just signed for Napoli was Fabio Quagliarella. he scores from anywhere.

I'd take Marcelo, he is 20 years old and have played many games for Brazil already. He is still improving.

But the problem is that he is a lot like Roberto Carlos, he really can't defend well. Even Real Madrid started to play him as a midfielder rather than fullback for a few months already.

Besides, he was from the club I support in Brazil so I might be a tad biased! :D

Don't know chief but he's a Portugese fella. Says on wiki he is a defensive midfielder but can play at centre back.

Macken will always be a legend to me for that header against Spurs in the FA cup replay.

He got us up and kept us up and we had an amazing season under him. However, he did that with the money no manager before had had to spend, so keeping us up was the minumum requirement. As soon as the purse strings were tightened, we started to do shit and he bottled it again.

After that match I made the biggest mistake of my life, I turned to my dad and said "Macken is the best player in the league".

That being said, he will go down in folklore for that one goal. Which was around a 3rd of his goals ever.

We owe Keegan a lot for where we are now. Yes he blew a lot of money but Wardle has take a lot of blame for giving it him. Keegan gave me the best season of my City supporting career, the Spurs game, several memorable derbies.

Yes he had his faults, but a lot of people slag Keegan off without accepting any of the positives (i think of BU hear), and it's not fair.

I Remember thinking Vass and Benji where the best strike force we'd ever had when they scored at the Swamp last season.

We all make mistakes.

Wardle does not have to take any blame for giving it to him because had he not given it him in the first place, Keegan would've flounced off again just a bit sooner than he did. What you're saying is "by giving keegan all that money, it's not his fault if he spent it on shit". Admittedly, it wasn't all shit, Anelka and Distin for example were great buys, but a whole lot of it was shit and spent naievely on players who, when we sold, we lost lots of money on.
Keegan got Bernstein removed from the club, crippled us financially.

That was a great season, but his achievements outside of that are limited to three games?
