perhaps a complimentary Kleenex should be placed upon each seat at Eastlands this year?

squad, not just first XI. squad. we need a squad. cover in every position. so for defensive mid we have de jong, kompany now as a defender, zabs and barry. that seems right, 3 defensive mids.

I definitely subscribe to the feeling on here that Kompany should be seen more as a center back from now on, but is there any evidence Hughes sees it this way?

ftr I'd buy Johnson if he's available and just start him at right back ahead of Richards, purely based on the fact that he's a better player at the moment. Micah didn't have the best season last season but he's still only 20 and has plenty of time to win his place back.

i reckon it's where vince will be shifted back to, to make room for barry on the pitch.

But he scores goals for fun, and can head it.

I would be sad to see Dunne go, but it may well be time. And seeing as De Jong cost £18 million, I'm not that surprised about the Johnson price tag.

Swapping Elano for Trezeguet might not be the worse move actually. I know he's 31 but then again so is Drogba and he undoubtedly fits our requirement for a world class center forward.

I like Elano but I don't think he wants to be here anymore and he'll probably find his first team opportunities even more restricted next season. Trezeguet on a short term contract could be a useful asset next year.
