Personally I think a well constructed passing move is much more easy on the eye than a thirty yarder. Also, surely you are more likely to score from creating a good opportunity through passing and moving than you are from a speculative long range effort. Spain, Holland and Russia have proved that in this tournament. 9 times out of 10 all you do with a thirty yarder is concede possesion back to the opposition. Whenever I see a player shaping up to shoot from 30 yards I shout "Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo, you c**t". LM will vouch for that.

Imagine the introductions though. "Zhirkov, Dickov; Dickov, Zhirkov." Actually, I home that never happens for a number of reasons.

I know he's a left winger, but I'd still have him tbh. Only 24 and we need competition for Petrov anyway.

But I'd still love Arshavin from that Russian side. We should be looking at players like this. He was awesome in the UEFA Cup. Chelsea essentially built their team from the star players from smaller leagues, and I reckon we should do the same. Arshavin would be in this category. Get him bought. Right hand side of a front 3 and much better than Bentley at it too.

Baines won't be available, he's only been at Everton a year. Who's the young lad that's back up to Clichy? I think there were rumours that O'Neill was after him. He'd be a good signing, pretty rapid too I think.

Take your pick. We've got enough. Podolski and Ronaldinho can play in the same position on the left, and if we don't buy either of them, Petrov would surely be pretty good at it. Castillo can play that position on the right too. And from what I hear, Bojinov would be pretty good in that sort of free role too. Benjani or Jo to lead the line. It's all detailed in my formations thread. :D

It could even be a 4-2-3-1 system, summat like this:

Hart

Corluka---Richards---Dunne---Ball

Fernandes---Johnson

Arshavin----Elano----Petrov

Benjani

But presumably, we'd be buying some more players before then.

What about Bojinov? or even Bianchi?

We seem to be rapidly 'doing a Spuds' with our strikers, we could ebd up with 11 or 12 by the start of the season.
