The Sporting defensive midfielder Miguel Veloso, 23 on 11th May, has been linked to us according to reports in the Murdoch press.

As I recall he was close to a move to the Premiership in the Winter.

This is an interesting move, if, as the articles in the Times and Sun are correct in stating that the players agent confirms talks between the parties have taken place/commenced are true, he has just the attributes that we are looking for.

Though his primary role is as DM he also plays in the heart of the defence if tactics or injuries dictate a change during a match. This is the sort of versatility we need next season. He is certainly the kind of established, admired level of footballer that would contribute enormously to taking us to the next level.

I just hope it's not hyperbolic fiction.

Sadly it is a transfer rumour thread in April, ergo it is full of shit. No apology necessary.

So the Murdoch press are just regurgitating lies/rumours then to fill column inches?

Bolton were after him. I worry if in fact he'd be any good.
