Miggs, do you actually watch the premier league? Samba has been one of the standout defenders of last season. He was signed for a nominal fee (£700k or $1447196.55 AUD - For your benefit) and performed pretty consistently the whole season - more than can be said for our defence. I would love a solid defender like Samba in the squad. He has such a determination, be it in his own penalty area or the opponents.

Christ, watch some more football.

ok i get it, your all taking the piss out of me right? I genuinely believe he is no better than what we already have. This is a wind up right?

I think theres a few things wrong with what being said in this thread.

1. "Corluka is not a good defender" to this i say buy some glasses, he was probably our best buy, he is strong in the air, strong in general and played a huge role for us last season. Has also been superb in the Euro so far too.

2. "Samba would make a good addition to the squad" I dont get this, why spend 4 million pounds on a defender who would probably not be as good as Dunne who could be leaving. Okay so he may be decent, but if we have ambition to finish in the top third by spending 20 million pounds on strikers and Ronnie, why should we settle for someone in defence who is possibly JUST on par with what we have already and not as good as Dunne who could be leaving.

If samba comes...okay i dont mind; hes young, but spend another couple of mill and get someone substantially better. And also Corluka is class, i dont understand why there are haters.

Samba is a fair bit younger though. Hopefully he'd be coming to his peak just in time for us! Miggs, are you sure you're not thinking of someone else.

I really really fail to see how some people do not rate charlie. He's top drawer.

I dont know if you're refering to something else but if you are not then Corluka is 22 and Samba is 24.

Benny. yeah im thinking of samba, the big black dude with the dreads from blackburn.
I just dont rate him sorry, sure he might be young but of the games i saw of him last year, he is has nothing more to offer us than we already have. I would rate him below Ned in the pecking order so i cant really see why we would be interested in buying him for anything other than cover for the back four.
As for charlie he is a class act and one of citys best buys in the last 10 years.

He gained and held a starting place in black burn thoughout the whole season!
If he came to city he would be on the bench thoughout the city im assuming as richards and dunne would hold there place but for only 4 mill would be a greta signing

He is OK but what we really need is a decent left back. I would like us to go for Risse, still only 27 and much better than what we have.

I'd rather piss rusty razor blades and then have them anally inserted than sign Riise.

I don't care. He's the most unreliable left-back ever! (I've just realised you meant the own goal)

ball is solid enough, unless we can get a really decent LB he should suffice. what about cashley? sure if we offer him a bag of money like were offering ronnie he would come to us.
