Jo can play on the wing as well. Right wing... That's a position we desperately need to reinforce

I don't think that's why we're looking at him though.

Over recent seasons we have tried to hammer a square peg into a round hole on the right wing, I'd much rather us buy an out and out winger.

Errrr........Aren't Jo AND Santa Cruz strikers???????

Santa Cruz has shown he has the ability to cut it in the EPL, Jo hasn't. If Santa Crus is a realistic target I'd go for him.

I'm swaying on the side of Santa Cruz too, I must admit. He was sensational for Blackburn last season and he has a bit of everything to his game. I just wonder how much he would cost us...

Concur. When we have the money to not compromise, why compromise? I think Hughes will draught in Bentley, I believe there is more talent to come from that boy.

We don't half have a fight on our hands then, because from newspaper rumours, Inter Milan and Liverpool are after him as well, and they can both offer him Chumps League football

Too frustrating, he has everything a winger needs but cannot find that killer ball.

I know I'm treading the same ground, but with Hughes in charge now, would SWP come back? Ian Wright said that he wouldn't play for Sven, because of Shaun's disappointment at not being selected regularly for England. So maybe there is a chance.

But we have Hughes, It wouldn't surprise me if that has a major influence in his decision.

Think ££££ and CL footy will swing it tbh.

Can Weiss play on the right?

Can he ever. Best right winger at the club. Do it.

He's only 20.

We can offer him the same £££ and UEFA Cup, and Hughes, so it wouldn't be too surprising if he came to us.

Yeah, he can. Bit too early though? I think he could do with a season in and around the First Team, coming off the bench etc. but it may be a tad too much putting him straight into the action.

I'm either gonna get lynched or looked at in a weird way here, but I'm gonna fuck it n say it anyway.
I do not want Shaun Wright-Phillips back at the club.
When he was here we were predictable. it was all through him. I think we have Petrov on the left, Johnson and Hamann in the middle and Elano on the right. For me, that works. If we were to bring in a right winger, stick Hamann on the bench and play Johnson and Elano down the middle. I have noidea where I would play Ireland, but I think that ther is our best midfield

I don't see Elano as a permanent winger, again, we can afford a proper winger so why plug the hole with a central midfielder? We were predictable this year with just Petrov, but with two wingers doing the business we become less and less predictable.

SWP was the best winger we have had in a seriously long time. If he was predictable, then he did a fucking good job anyway.

Him as a player wasn't predicatble, but us as a team were. Each team knew we were always going to go through SWP. That's why Chelsea snapped him up, he was the onlythreat they could see in the league on the right. Now he's wasted at the club, and I don't think he's good enough for the team anymore

That's only because we had no left winger. We're in the same situation now, we have Petrov but no right winger. A team with Petrov on the left and SWP on the right would stretch almost any team's defence.
