i want to agree with that, but arsenals defence hasn't impressed me for ages. as for getting better players than distin... yes we should be doing that, but given the mire we currently find ourselves in we may find it a bit harder to attract those kind of players. he'd be good til the end of the season, then we could sack him off. two birds with one stone that - get decent defensive cover, a player that has already had a successful defensive partnership with the captain (so there wouldn't be as much an issue about settling in) and then vengence for walking out on us for "better prospects" at portsmouth.
