It is a foregone conclusion that wherever we finish in the league and in Europe that Guardiola wil want to make changes. Presumably money will be no real object and we will be inundated in the media with stories that we will buy everyone who can kick a ball.
But who will he want to keep and who will he want to get rid of?
Clearly there are some who have come to the end of great careers, De Michaelis, Toure, Sagna, Clchy etc, but what of those who have been found wanting recently? Navas, Sterling, Mangala, Caballero, Bony, Delph have hardly impressed. And what of those whom we as fans would want to keep. I think that Aguero, Silva, KDB, are certainties to stay and of course Hart although I fear that Joe may be relegated to number 2 if Guardiola can persuade Neuer or someone similar to sign.
Regrettably Vincent may not be considered viable in the future because of his injuries, which leaves people like Zabaletta, Kolorov,Nasri, the Ferdys, who could still do a good job as squad players.

It's an interesting time Bert, apart from a solid 8 players, many names will be on the table.

Then again, who knows how Pep thinks? He may have bit parts for some of these players we don't see.

Our current squad will beat any on our best day, (and then we can draw at Norwich) I don't imagine we'll see enormous change.

Players that are young, talented and have potential to be coached in the 'Pep way' will stay. Players that are older and talented and already play in the 'Pep way' will stay. That's a small number. Players that are old and shit will go. That's a group that's getting larger. Most of the players that are old and talented but don't play in the 'Pep way' will also go but transitionally I imagine. I don't think many are safe and I expect our team in 2 years to look very different to now, clearly there's limits to

Nolito is flying in for talks with Manchester City on Wednesday as he closes in on a £13.8million move from Celta Vigo.

The Spain international will be officially confirmed as the second major signing for Pep Guardiola later this week as the new City manager steps up his preparations for pre-season.

nolito has passed a medical

Guardiolas attention will now turn to john Stones

Ok I dug this thread up it's as good as any for purpose.
I'm watching the juve vs Monaco 2nd leg.
Juve are now. 3... Make that 4. Jeeez that was frigging beautiful volley from Dani alavez.

Could we have signed him maybe?
But the one I'm watching is Mendy from the frogs.

They are getting a lesson here but he has looked decent.
As a left back he must have potential to be great.

Alavez has looked brilliant though..
We should have had him from barca

Was on twitter and mentioned that Mendy would be a terrific buy, some amazing crosses he put in and and flying up and down the left flank, think he's only like 20-21, didn't think much of Mbappe though for all the hype he's getting

Yeah agree with that mate.
Mbappe looked a bit lost. But he still got a goal and he would suit our style of play.
But the forwards are alright. But mendy would be a top signing for us to go forward.
He did get taken off for getting moody though and I like that.. He was pissed at losing..

There is talk of Nolito going to Betis for 3 million. We paid 13 million for him.
I know we have cash coming out of our ears but that does seem a bit generous

from betis? i'd agree. he's been a non-entity barring maybe his first handful of appearances. has he even been on the bench much?

I pretty much only check newsnow for whats going on with us as it pulls all the nonsense together.

So, looks like kyle walker has sent a thankyou and maybe good bye to spurs, could be reading too much into it, but it must be a strong odds on now.

And speaking of odds and really interesting and out of nowhere, the bookies for some reason have suddenly slashed the odds 1/4 for us signing bernardo sliva from monaco.

I wouldn't say no... :TopHat1 :TopHat1

Dear Mr Guardiola
In 6 weeks it will be my birthday, I will be 70 years old.
I have supported City since 1954 when I went to my first game at Maine Road.
I don't ask for birthday presents, but as I am getting older I will.
Please could you buy a goalkeeper?
One who stops the ball going into the net. I don't care if he is a better centreforward than Sergio or a better playmaker than David Silva or even trickier with his feet than Pele.
I just want one who stops goals.
I know that the team which scores most goals wins, but don't forget that the team that lets least goals in doesn't lose.
Love Bert

Strong links with the lad at benfica who's from Brazil.
Just name eludes me right now though.

70 is a milestone, I hope we're having a huge partay. :approve:

Ederson seems to be looking likely.

Young goalie who has scored from a goal kick in youth team, good with his feet apparently. Also on united's radar as a de gea replacement. Third party ownership may be a bit of an embuggerance though...

City have agreed a £39.8m fee with Monaco for Benjamin Mendy (22) and will next turn their attention to Tottenham's Kyle Walker. [Mirror]
