Sad to see him go and wish him well, but that's £165,000 a week we can now put towards a central midfielder who won't be turning 30 on his next birthday.

Strange on but there we go. Good luck to him if he thinks it's the right move.

Fixed. This is the problem, as far as I see it: we now need at least two players to replace him

Maybe that's half the reason he's going, maybe BR has said he can play in the middle to replace Gerrard.. He wasn't the long term solution to our left mid issues, we needed to go out and buy some young flyer either way.

Sheer class from VK4

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany pays tribute to James Milner following the England international's move to Liverpool, tweeting a picture of them at a boxing match, and writing: "You'll be missed at City brother, as a team-mate and a friend! Your drive and passion were inspirational. Good luck!"

Seems we have made an initial bid for Sterling so I can only see that going one way now, just depends on how much the fee goes to. Nice interview with Khaldoon yesterday promising big signings. Just a concern that nobody appears to be mentioning the defence

Another bid gone in. 40m by all accounts.

Still not sure about this.

I am distinctly unimpressed.
Mind it would serve him right to come and sit on our bench.

tbf a front 3 of Silva, Aguero and Sterling would give me a very powerful erection. :TopHat1

He's proven himself to be a bit of a cunt but I can't help but think he'd improve the team. Young, English and the potential to be absolutely quality. FWIW I'd like to see him in the team next season

I want to see us bid for Clyne. Great player and also young and English, and Zabs can't go on forever. Is Sagna still at the club? Is he still our plan B for right back next season?

I was about to say the same thing. Listening to talksport earlier and they were saying Liverpool and the munichs were interested for about £12m

I'm guessing he would only go where he was first choice but Sagna is awful and (whisper it) Zabs didn't have the best of seasons

Sky sports are reporting we have firm interest in Wilshere, too. Serious meh, despite those two goals

Apart from Pogba why do we seem to only be interested in average nonentities. Delph is no Milner and Sterling might well be the English Ballotelli. Liverpool seem to be making some relatively sensible buys, Utd are talking out of their collective bottoms but are in with a quite big chance of some quite big names, Chelsea are selling rather than buying because they have some fairly reasonable players, but we seem mired in talks with no one worth having. Khaldoon promised some spectacular buys but unless there are a lot of secret discussions going on we don't seem to be getting anywhere.
