I'm all for this happening.

Quote:
Manchester City are in advanced talks with Swansea City over signing Wilfried Bony, BBC Wales Sport has learned.

It is thought that it would take more than £30m to prise the Ivory Coast striker, 26, from the Liberty Stadium.

Swansea manager Garry Monk has said it will take an "astronomical" fee to secure Bony in the January transfer window.

He was the Premier League's top scorer in the calendar year of 2014 with 20 goals.

He joined Swansea for a club-record £12m from Vitesse Arnhem in 2013.

Bony is on African Cup of Nations duty with the Ivory Coast for at least the next three weeks, and any deal would likely be concluded after his return.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham were all reported to be interested, but Premier League champions City have made the first move to bolster their attacking options.

The Sky Blues were without injured strikers Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko for the festive period and manager Manuel Pellegrini is keen to add further depth to his squad.

The fee being discussed would break the Welsh record transfer of £15m that Liverpool paid Swansea for midfielder Joe Allen in August 2012.

Top goal scorer in 2014, only just turned 26 - probably the going rate and we desperately need another striker if we're going to have a tilt at the title. Pissing off to the ACN for 3 weeks every year is more of a concern.

He would be good in the team but I can only see him used as a sub for Aguero etc. bench warming may not be what he wants or expects

Can't see him being a bench warmer, more like playing alongside kun as a front two and therefore putting Dzeko's nose out of joint in the process.

Sign him up.

Because the current team lacks a criminal/controversy lightning conductor?

In that case lets sign cheddertron, ticks all the boxes..

Im kinda hopeful about bony now..never really paid that much attention to him. But he looks like he could be good in a month when he gets here...

He's a tank, good replacement for Negredo (it seems).

Pellegrini likes his character classes. I'm with KC, could possibly be a good partnership with Aguero - as Negredo had

Bony is an outstanding player. In a good side, aka City, he could be a machine.

Almost there by the sounds of it. £25m up front with £3m in add-ons.

See they are giving him the 14 shirt.
I don't like to worry you but if you care to check on the last few owners you may be less than impressed
