MANCHESTER CITY contacted Real Madrid star Mesut Ozil during los blancos visit to Manchester for Champions League fixture against City

Ozil was a surprise omission from the starting eleven against the Citizens, with Croatian playmaker Luka Modric given the all-important creative role for Los Blancos.£30million-rated Ozil, 24.

There is perhaps an argument for the need to bring in more creative talent to Roberto Mancini’s squad as the likes of Samir Nasri and David Silva haven’t had the best of seasons thus far, though the Spanish international did put in an some excellent display against Real Madrid earlier this week but that wasn’t enough to save City from Champions League exit.

Ozil or Sneijder would complete the dream team.

Along with perhaps a LB that can go forward also (I'm looking at you Gael).

Unless we get rid of one of our attacking midfielders, which won't happen, we really don't need him. I would take Di Maria off their hands though. We could use another attacking winger at the club (a 'playing' version of Sinclair).

Well that may be the case but hyperthyroidismistically speaking it's a very mild condition.

I agree with what Cloudy said recently in that what we need sometimes is to be more direct. We don't have anybody who will run with the ball at defenders, pulling people out of position and creating difficulties in defences that have been set up to "contain". As it is, we are attempting to pass our way through and all (easier than it sounds, admittedly) they need to do is man mark. Yaya doesn't seem to be driving forward with anything like the same fluidity; the last time I remember him doing so was Real away and we've lost Johnson who used to be quite a common introduction as games wore on if we were struggling to break teams down

The only two players we have who will try and get past opposition is Kolarov and Sinclair. Kolarov is 50/50 at best at it too, so given that Sinclair we've barely seen, we could use another.

Speaking of which, aren't Turkish men forever trying to throw their fingers up your mother? Is that why you don't want another one in the North West?

I can't remember whether they threw their fingers up her or to her. I think they threw them to her.

Both are considered complimentary in Turkey.

Not so for Bastard's comments about my post.

Your post confused me Danny. You say Kolarov and Sinclair are the only players who go past the opposition. Surely there are more than that? Yaya is a notable one n'est ce pas? Also Tevez, Clichy, Zabaleta, Hugecock, Silva.

Not sure about Sinclair going past people either.

Right, not sure we are talking about the same thing. I am talking about a player who will run at defenders (a la Adam johnson, eyal berkovich) and get past them. Yaya maybe yes, Silva no, Zabs nup, Tevez yes, Clichy not really.

Is there any linearity between what I am saying and you?

Nope.

It's like we a) watch a completely different set of players and b) have differing definitions of the word "linearity".

Meanwhile, in Australia..

Are wingers who can "skin" defenders a thing of the past? I can't think of any that do it on a regular basis these days, the way SWP used to in his pomp.
