He will be converted to a CB à la Kompany. Which will hopefully bring the end to Savic.

Harsh. He's 21. He must have been okay today for a start.

I have yet to see him play a match without making at least one terrible mistake. He needs to go out on loan for a year to a mid table club pronto.

Rodwell signing official btw....

I've been getting all kinds of abuse from my mates that like him :approve:. If he is a CDM/ CH fill in that would be ideal and I can see him doing well there, still young and plenty to learn. And as a few of you already said, he played Silva out of the game, so there has to be some sort of quality or promise there.

Welcome Jacky boy.

Qualty signing IMO. I am hoping he is one of those kids (like Gerrard was) who has hamstring problems whilst he's growing which will settle down.

Just listened to his interview. Not a trace of a scouse accent. Comes across as quite an intelligent lad. Not what I was expecting if I'm honest.

I don't remember him marking Silva out of the game. I remember him fouling him loads. £20m doesn't get you much these days. Oh well, at least the rags have been after him for ages.

I read it was £15m rising to £20m with add-ons.

I read it was 10 million, sinking with feeling.

Don't believe everything you read in the press. :) It will probably be up to £25m by the end of the day.

Given our history with Gollum, the Lescott transfer in particular, I'd be astonished if it was any less than £20m.

From Southport, quasi-scouse retirement settlement for the North West's coffin dodgers who like a bit of sea air with their prunes.

Strange that the £20m we could potentially pay for Rodwell is only £2m short of what Arsenal are asking for Van Persie. I guess it's the difference in wages that makes one feasible and not the other...

Maybe it's that one is a midfielder; t'other a forward?

Think you have hit the nail on the head. ;)

Our forwards aren't too shoddy. I have no problem whatsoever going in to the new season with what we have.
