Think you have hit the nail on the head. ;)

Our forwards aren't too shoddy. I have no problem whatsoever going in to the new season with what we have.

thats how i see it too...
tevez is looking hungry...for some odd reason, he has got his kipper down and got on with his job...
he was great last season rvp, but its the first one he has been that good, and injury free...

i don't think its a big deal not getting him...we did alright last time out didn't we...

Mancini definitely wanted to bring Van Persie to City, he's said as much. I thought it was because we had to get rid of a few big earners like Ade before we could sign any big names.

I have heard that RVP only wants to go to Trafford. Apparently he desperately wants to play alongside Rooney. We had no chance of getting him and that is why we pulled out. This is from a very reliable source.

If the silver-hair Van Persie joins Shrek at the swamp, I'm fairly certain they'd have the oldest looking under 30's strike force in the history of the game.

They'd have a Fatman and Robin strike force.

Ideal scenario would've been RVP going to Juve, so we didn't get him and United didn't. But if going to the Rags is the concession for him not joining us, I'll accept that.

Nah, the ideal scenario would be for him to go to United and return to his usual injury-prone self.

What a great perfomance against QPR on Matchday 3, fucking amazing workrate nd brilliant timing by Jack Rodwell. Made an really good impression, mostly coz he looked more a "footballer" than De Jong. Tho he wasn t tested that good in the defense, but he did def controlled the ball well nd made intelligent movement when we were in possession.

Really good so far, hope we can see more from him.

Roberto Mancini said he was "worried" about Jack Rodwell as the midfielder attempts to regain fitness from his latest hamstring injury.

Rodwell was signed in the summer for £12m from Everton but has since suffered two more hamstring problems to add to the six he had to overcome last season. While Rodwell would not have expected to have been a first-choice at the beginning of his City career, he has made only six appearances since signing, and has not featured since 6 October when appeared as a last-minute replacement in the 3-0 win over Sunderland at the Etihad Stadium.

His latest hamstring problem came when on England Under-21 duty in October before he aggravated the injury last month. Mancini said: "He's getting better and we hope we can maybe recover him in two or three weeks. He needs to start to work with the group but he didn't do this until [last] Thursday.

"I'm worried because when we bought him we thought that he was a good player and then he has these problems with his hamstrings. We hope we can improve this situation for him because he's young, he's got quality, he has everything to have a good career."

aren't we all roberto, aren't we all.

Read somewhere yesterday that he has suffered 8 separate hamstring injuries since the start of last season. If it's true, then the lad really has no hope.

seriously though, cursed. fucking cursed. either through injury or from his every involvement in a game leading to a goal conceded.

I reckon we're bodging his ops on purpose so we don't feel obliged to give him any playing time.

Why the hell did we buy a player who's had six hamstring injuries in one season?

The alarm bells started ringing for me when an Everton season ticket holder I know through a mate said when we bought him that they were delighted to offload him, and he couldn't imagine why anyone who'd watched him play over the past few seasons would want him. I think we may have been sold a duffer there. I'd be delighted to be proved wrong, it has happened before.
