Squad numbers changed 16/07/2008 10:45

The Club has confirmed five changes to players' squad numbers, in addition to the arrival of Brazilian star Jô, in light of tomorrow's game away to EB/Streymur.

City's record signing will wear the number 14 shirt, previously worn by striker Paul Dickov.

Croatian defender Vedran Corluka has moved from number 16 to squad number 5. Taking his old number is Kasper Schmeichel, who moves up the ladder to 16 from number 19.

Martin Petrov has swapped his old number 15 for his Bulgarian international squad number of 17 and recently returned Italian striker Bernardo Corradi has taken the number 39 shirt.
Finally, goalkeeper Richard Martin, who is expected to travel to the Faroe Isles for tomorrow's UEFA Cup qualifying game will wear number 13 for the coming year.

Please note the remaining squad numbers are not confirmed for the Barclays Premier League season as the official list is not finalised until early August.

Leon Collins

I hope that represents the number of players available to Hughes before he's forced to play him.

As long as nobody gets MVF's number I don't care.

Not sure Danny.

Could be the lad who played in goal for the youth cup winning team? If so he was about 4ft 2" and more flappy at crosses than DJ on a bad day.

Does the fact we haven't allocated the number 9 shirt to anyone mean we may buy another striker? Mpenza had that squad number & he's gone. I'm surprised Jo didn't get the number 9.
