Feel free to delete this thread if this doesn't come off but.....

Reports in France suggest Samir Nasri has completed discussions with Manchester City over a move to the north west.

French radio station RMC report the attacker, who is currently preparing for his country's game with Chile on Wednesday night, has agreed personal terms with the FA Cup holders.

They say the player will receive an annual salary of £6m and that City will make a formal bid to Arsenal of around £22m shortly.

Nasri, who is training with the French team in the south of the country, has less than a year too run on his Arsenal deal.

#mcfc hope to tie up the signing of Samir Nasri from Arsenal by the end of this week with all personal terms agreed already. [Independent]

I'd much rather see Sneijder in the blue shirt of City than Nasri. Watched him play for Arsenal against City before, he's overated, wheras Sneijder is a Champions League winner, League winner, former Real and Inter player, pure world-class, Nasri isn't world-class just a good premier league player... Alas, he'll have to do though I suppose, although he needs to change the colour of those pretty red shoes he always wears.

I think Nasri would fit into our team better. Part of a three pronged attack. Sneijder seems to like to get the ball deeper a la Silva. Nasri seems to have more of a winger about his play. £14 mil cheaper is nothing to be sniffed at either.

Manchester City are reportedly closing on a deal for Samir Nasri.

The Blues and Arsenal have been negotiating over the price for the France international - and are now close to agreeing a fee of between £22-24million, report the BBC.

However, City could turn to Fiorentina winger Alessio Cerci if Arsenal refuse to relent over Samir Nasri's price.

The Blues have long been linked with the 24-year-old, but he is seen to be an alternative to the Gunners playmaker.

Boss Roberto Mancini has gone on record to say he would like another winger before the transfer window closes, and with Shaun Wright-Phillips set to leave it will be a surprise if nobody else comes in.

Former Italy Under-21 international Cerci joined Fiorentina for £3.5m last August from Roma, where he had graduated through the youth ranks.

Really not sure about Cerci, I just googled him for first time and I have seen this geezer. Very hit and miss, mostly an off the bench player. Has a decent record of goals but....it is Italy.

nasri runs down the left wing right.?

AJ has to be a shoe in for the right side..

I dunno, i thought if clichy is at LB we could shove kolorocket up the wing, he has pace and decent cross (at times)...

im not saying don't go for nasri, just the 'if we don't get him' scenario..
