Think he's made one reserve appearence, could be one for the future but........

Israel's game plan was severely dented in the 64th minute, when star player Gai Assulin was injured and replaced by Nes Zamir. Without its captain and inspiration, Israel appeared to be stuck and the Serbs were able to take a stranglehold on the midfield.

MJ, Bojinov, Balo, now Gai....WTF is it with us and injured players FFS.

how bad though?

I don't think he is that close to 1st team yet but injuries dont help the cause.

I read an interview with him in an Israeli newspaper. He says that he didn't make the decision to come to City and it was his dad's idea... which he more or less regrets.

He's a good player but, as I mentioned when he signed for us, not good enough for the senior squad... at least not in the near future.

naa... Benayoun could have actually contributed something at Chelsea if he didn't get injured a week after joining. Assulin's dad just over-estimated his son's ability...coming from Barca B and everything... the lad should have gone to a smaller team in England or to the dutch/belgian league or something like.

Anywho... maybe he'll show enough at barnsley to get a place on the bench for FA cup matches.

or the europa games...

actually, that's what we should do with teveth, play him and the other outcasts in the europa games, and make up the rest fo the team with a bunch of kids and those returning from injury to give them some game time.

Or we could actually try to win the Europa? I know it's not the Champions' League, but if we do end up in it - I want to win it. That isn't to say we should play our strongest XI every game (though, as I've said before, I don't think we necessarily have a strongest XI per se), but I don't think we should be playing especially weak sides either.

In that case it wasn't just Mr. Gay Ass Sr. who over-estimated him, it was us too

possibly. don't get me wrong, i think yossi is a decent player, but not quite chelsea first team standard. he was perfect for the dippers - 5th place challengers.

Benayoun is a squad player. I don't think he was ever brought to be a starter. I think benayoun is a perfect player for clubs like fulham, everton, sunderland... he's no longer the good played he was 3 years ago. He should have never left liverpool...
